Also, don't want to slow anyone down and i the way i look at it i will never get better if i don't ride with experienced folks.

I'll make you a deal... If you don't make fun of my "sit down" style of riding (due to totally shot knees), I'll keep you company if you fall behind. Its not about "fast" its about "fun".

"sit down" Is there any other way? Looks like we will have about 20 riders, with 15 of them riding sweep :D

Fifteen sweepers should be just about right. What are the odds of 20 Husabergs completing a loop?

(I'm only kidding! Please don't send me any irate PM's. My '98 Fe501 has been stone reliable for years)

risky1 it should not be a problem, I can sleep 5 in my trailer, 3 beds, 1 pull out couch bed and 1 bed from the 2 table seats. I have been trying to get intouch with radiomankev and convince him to come and also one other secret person that am trying real hard to come join us. If we end up with 5 persons might have to take vehicles as 5 in truck will be tight for 16-18 hrs of driving. Would be nice to get at least 3-4 to help share the gas, I will pay for the camping.

Risky1 & Brenden I live in Brentwood, not to far away.

If anyone needs to talk to me please call.
Cell # 924-260-0315 PST
Please do not call on sat. 12/11 until after 5pm as I will be at the AMA-D36 sanctioning meeting picking our race dates for 2005

More than happy to pay for gas and camping etc. whatever you need.

Also Just to set aside any worries about injuries and old people croaking out on us, I will volunteer to be the resident medical aid person and will bring most of my goodies. Well, the legal stuff anyway.

Paramedic for 10 years (5 in Vegas and 5 in Fresno)

(Knock on wood) not that we will need any of it...
Geez I hope i did not just jinx us....

speaking of the odds of 20 bergs completing a loop; does someone have a Helmet cam? what a promo video for BMG this would make. Well on second thought i guess a bunch of guys who sit down to ride is not the type of clientel Husaberg is marketing to right?

I have the helmet cam covered. I may be able to bring a second if some is willing to wear my friend's helmet (or we can mount his cam on your helmet, requires a small hole drilled in the visor)

The best video footage is usually the imprompto, unexpected get-offs 8O that someone is guaranteed to provide (20 newbies?, definitely good video opportunities) I may need to buy more tapes and batteries.

It looks like BaronvonHusaberg will not be accompanying me to Moab. So for now I'm coming solo. If anyone has xtra room, I'd be interested, otherwise I'll book a room on Monday.

My bike is starting to sweat in anticipation of seeing so many brothers.

:bounce3: :bounce3:
Thats great 20 old fat guys sitting down!
:cursin: :cursin:
No that 20 bergs will make ONE loop is the real joke, Thats why I'll bring two bikes so when one of mine takes a dump I won't have to be camp biotch. I'm not mad just a realist I love my berg but......Yea I know its slow , heavy, and not real good lookin, just like me, but you only have to change the oil once a year and tires when they wearout on the drz.

I wouldn't sell our "20 old fat guys" too short. Look at the experience that is represented in that group. I can still roost pretty good in the open desert and I know that most of our long-time members are active in racing and clubs rides. It also looks like new/novice riders will be well represented also.
I really don't mind riding sweep. My arthritic knees are self inflicted due to trauma not due to old age. Sitting down is preferable to not riding at all.

BMG should be marketing to the fat old guys, because they are the group that usually have the money.

Does anyone know if there are showers there, and clothes washing machines?

If you read their brochures, they are definitely targetting the discriminating, affluent consumer.

I wouldn't have picked the Slickrock for base camp if they didn't have both.

I know the odor would be unbarable by the third day if we don't have showers and clothes washing machines.

Is Denver a poor choice to arrive, its looks on the map to be close to Moab. Vegas,Salt Lake City,Phoenix have only been mentioned.Does Denver have weather issues that time of year or ?...nsman

Denver is a full day drive from Moab. I'll be coming though there on my way. Highway 70 runs through the Rockie mountains and there is always a chance of a snowstorm closing the road. If 70 is closed I plan on taking 50 from Pueblo.

nsman,
I looked at the weather.gov site and Colorado has very little rain or snow in March. So, you should be ok with that plan. Are you shipping a bike? Or have you made arrangements to borrow a bike?

Here is the rsponse I got from Slck Rock:

When you make your reservation online get the last names of anyone that has made a reservation. You can put them in under special instructions on the reservation page. Then I can see where they are and move every one in the group together. Also if you could tell everyone that has not made a reservation yet, to put the name of the group on the special instruction on the reservations page when they make theirs would help.
Thanks
Jaimee

bksavs,
What name did you give them for our group?

I just told them I was with "a group of Husaberg dirt bike riders". I didn't say force ride like I should have. This would be easier If we could actually talk to them. They tried to return my calls once. Unfortunately I was in a meeting and couldn't answer.

Jamie at Slickrock called me this morning, she is setting aside 5 cabins and a row (18) of 50ft full hook RV sites. Please reserve asap. She would like to know with Jan as the cut-off date, mid January would be ok.

Just say your with the "HUSABERG FORCE RIDE"

I now have a full/hook-up reserved.
