Not to worry, Taffy.

Just serve them their beer the way you drink it in England, nice and warm. They'll instantly lose all interest in you being their waitress.

Better bring some of what WE call whisky because I cant gag the stuff from the other side of the pond down. Now my wife learned to like it on her trips to the UK.

I bet the smack talk after this is over will go on for ever. Look what it is now and we haven't even met each other for the most part.

From looking at some of the video from the area if we want to challenge ourselves we probably wont care what we drink or with who by 6pm

smack

I am bringing a friend with a XR650R. Have reserved a room at Slick Rock. And I am not going to say anything till I see the riders and then let the SMACK begin!

2 more non-Husabeg riders will be driving up with me.

BTW, is everyone bringing their gas, or do you guys just run pump gas?

I don't recall seeing race fuel at the local m/c shop there. And I didn't see any airports nearby for av gas.

I going to pass on the ride. Instead, I've decided to chase AJT around that sunday south of Fallon, NV in round two of a series. Hope you guys have a blast.
John

I may be bringing another rider with me as well. I should know for sure early next week.

Refresh me if you could on spark arrestors, lights and registration etc. My companions will have Y zed effs and need to know if they have xtra work.

thanks in advance

Fryguy

No lights, registration or permits required, unless you are dual sporting.

Spark arresters are now required on all US federal lands and almost every public state land as well.

If you don't have a spark arrester, but your system is quiet, you won't be bothered. If you have an excessively loud exhaust, then you will be asking for someone to look up your pipe for a screen. 8O

Thanks for the reply.

I'll make sure we don't wake the neighbors.

Thanks again

Well its t minus 10 and I finally got the buddys 98 fe600 motor back together last night. Thanks to Dez for the tranny parts or else Neil would not be going.

Got a 500 lb pile o **** in the garage for the trip and I don't think it will all fit In a 50lb box. So with three bikes ( Gotta have the DRZ for when my berg does the berg thing), easy up ( in case it rains then like its doing all this week), gear bags so big it takes a better man than me to lift (gotta be prepared for EVERYTHING), Dutch oven ( for dip your ass in the river chilli), Tool box ( with every spare I have for both brands and chemicals), and a HUGE ice chest for adult liquid refreshment. I don't have room for gas or fire wood. Thank goodness I'm not camping. Should I bring extra tires? For all bikes? Got my maps and gps ready. Oh yea gotta finally put the CD player in my truck cause not many radio stations between here and SaltLake. Neil would be a raving mad man if he had to hear me sing for 800 miles. Better get on the tread mill and loose the forty lbs of fat and do a few sets of presses so I will be in shape. Sure you can do it in 10 days.

Now you guys are seing the excessive compulsive side of me. Gotta be ready for anything. What if I forgot it at home? Better bring clothes and riding gear for hot, cold, dry and wet. Oh crap forgot the lantern. I better go see if I can borrow a trailer. Why did someone come up with this plan so long ago why not just last week? Then my excitement level wouldn't be through the roof.

Hopefully today we will get the motor in Neils bike and fire it and ride around the neighborhood ( sure to piss off the old lady next door).

You all know that I have a regular job but some of you don't know that my wife owns a garden center and I am THE MAN WHORE. You can guess that most of our business is from May to July so soon I will be working 16 hours a day 7 days a week. In fact its already starting so this trip is going to refresh me and get me ready for the coming season at the nursery.

I hope somebody else is getting ready Cause my buddy Neil says lets just wait until Monday night to get ready. My other buddy John went to Arizona for a week of ridding and them will meet us in Moab. Maybe they have the right idea like Neil said yesterday " Dude chill out your making me tired just listening to you".

I'm not looking forward to this trip or anything!

Bob,
I count it as being T minus 11, but then I can see why you need to be there a day early. It'll take you that long to inventory and re-inventory and re-re-inventory all your stuff. And then you'll need the extra time to try to settle down after realizing that you left some absolutley essential trinket behind and try to decide what to do about it before you figure out that some of the rest of us suffer from the same/similar disease (analism) and will almost certainly have our own 50lb boxes of redundant parts and accessories for you to pilage. Take some Midol and chill. It'll all be OK big guy.

Thanks man, I just call BOSS to see what he could line up for my bros.

If everyone is excited as Bobzilla, we are in from some frightfull fun!!!

Again, I can't wait either.

fryguy

Bob, We are all glad that you will be bringing the spares.
I think that I'll probably pack a spare tube or two for the boys bikes and I'll be ready to roll. I usually take the minimalist approach. You can ask breger, I usually don't bring anything on the trail besides food and a spare liter of gas.

Heck Bob, looks like all I need is a change of underwear and I'm good to go. Im sure you got me covered for any of the incidentals like food, shelter, liquid refreshments, spares, fuel ect..ect.. ect...

Your Pal,
Ken

P.S.
Dont forget the blender

i hear a buzzing about a little 'contest' for how has the cleanest bike.
i cant win that one, but i can drink a beer pretty quick.
any other 'events' going on behind the scenes?
tuts

I defer to Dez on that one. Mine are clean....spit shine, waxed and hermetically sealed.....no!!
