Hello all,

In case you have not heard, some members of the UHE site are organizing an East Coast Force Ride (ECFR). We're trying to get as many of the east coast riders as we can to come out and make a showing. We're hoping that you'll be one of them.

The ECFR is planned to occur at the Hatfield McCoy Trail system
Hatfield McCoy Trail System. Hatfield McCoy is located in West Virginia, and has over 500 miles of trails to ride ranging from bunnyslopes(known as schwim-trails) to whiteknuckle rides(known as schwim will meet you at the other end-trails). Regardless of your ability or preference, this ride will be awesome!

The date will be August 5-8, Friday to Sunday. Many of us will be arriving on Thursday night.

We would really like to gather as many Husaberg owners together, so we can all meet one another, share stories, build a tighter Husaberg community, and most of all, RIDE!

In cased you missed all the hooplah from the West coast ride out in Moab, the members who got to go had a great time. The members that attended got to enjoy some great riding, lies over the camp fire, gas inducing chili and playing hide the toothbrush(ok, that part's made up, but if you want, we can add it to the east coast ride itinerary). I can't tell you how cool it was to meet some of the people I've talked to at the site over the years. I can promise you that if you decide to join us, it will be a memorable event that you'll look back upon with some big smiles.

If this is something that interests you, please go to the UHE frontpage where there will be a link to the ride. You can sign up there. If you have some non-UHE friends that would like to join you for the trip, they are welcome as well. We'll just put Berg graphics on their bikes while they're sleeping.

Please consider this, if for no other reason, just to make an appearance, and let us meet as many members as we can. There's no requirement on how much riding you do, but if you are inclined to join us, we'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Parsko

P.S.-Pass this on to 10 members in the next ten minutes and you will find a penny in between your couch cushions. I'm not kidding about this, I just tried it and I found $0.37!!!!

Hey,

BP, we've been PM'n, lets include the others. Could you call and ask about reservations and possible club discounts and let us know??

BP and crew: 4 bikes, 4 dudes
Me and crew: 1-3 bikes, 1-3 dudes
Schwim: 1 bike, 1 dude?
Wildbill: 1 bike, 1 dude?
Punk and Bergler: 2 bikes, 2 dudes?

This should give rough numbers...

Anyone else out there wanna go???

Will we be coming in on Thursday night August 4th spending the night and riding Fri./Sat./Sun. ?
Or will we be arriving early Fri. mroning and riding Fri./Sat./Sun. and then home, or something else ?
I just need to know so I know how many nights to make reservations.
We usually stay at Browning Fork Trailhouse (www.browningforktrailhouse.com) . They have three trailers that are very nice and sleep 6 persons each. The trailers are $100 a night (+ tax) on weekdays and $125 a night on weekends (Fri./Sat.) divided by however many people we have.
Each trailer has appliances, shower w/ all linens, pressure washer for the bikes, grill, campfire, wash./dryer, dinner table, couches, phone w/free long distance, decks, etc.
What we usually do is get a motel in Logan,WV on Thurs. night, get up have breakfast and go ride Dingess Rum Trails all day. Drive about 45 minutes to Browning Fork (Gilbert,WV) and spend Friday night there.
Get up Sat. morning have breakfast and ride our bikes from the trailhouse to the Browning Fork Trails and ride till lunch. Ride our bikes into town and have lunch then back on the trails till dinner time.
Spend Sat. night at Browning Fork, get up Sunday morn for breakfast and drive about 40 minutes to Buffalo Mtn. Trails and ride half a day and then head for home. Or we could spend Sunday night and then go home ?
I have to secure any reservations at my own expense/risk so I need CONFIRMED Riders who are coming.

This sounds fantastic. Trailers are perfect. I am thinking to arrive thursday night, probably do the hotel thing too. The schedule looks great otherwise.

As far as people. I can only gaurantee myself. But, I have my feelers out with another buddy I ride with occasionally.

If you have paypal, I will certainly toss some loot your way in that manner.

Parsko,
I'll go ahead and book us one trailer for now and a couple of rooms at the Super 8 in Logan for Thurs. night.

Hey guys,

Some more additional thoughts...

Bergler and Punk asked a question regarding riding.

Talked with BP219 last week about the topic. He is there (Hat/McCoy) as I write, actually. I hope for him to chime in on this too.

According to BP, there is all sorts of riding styles available there. Goat trails, people on quads "taking pictures of birds", and nasty stuff.

As far as riding styles, even if you are a C rider, it won't make a difference. According to DezDuster, riding out west is all about speed. I am going out on a limb here, but I would say that riding on the east is all about trails. When I say trails, I mean glorified hiking trails, with rocks, roots, etc. to get in the way. I really have yet to go on a ride (here in CT) where I even hit 6th gear at any reasonably high RPM. Frankly, I'm not sure I would be comfortable riding that fast in a dirtbike around here. My friends and I love to ride tight technical stuff, and that is what I am looking forward to in Hat/Macoy.

More to come...

come on peoples... time's a-wasting

Hey guys,

If this is going to work out, we all need to kind of put our collective hienies in gear and make it happen. Barring any catastrophes, you can count me in on the ride, and we'll hope that we get some more interest by the time it's time to pony up.

Anyone willing to dedicate some time to the cause is welcome to chime in and take some weight off of the shoulders of the couple taking the initiative now.

thanks,

The trailhouse that I have reserved will sleep 6-8 people. If there is going to be more people than that, then I need to get another trailhouse booked now ! ? Let me know right away !!!
We rode the black trails (most difficult) and there were a couple of hills that we had to come back down cause we couldn't make it all the way up. Some hills we had to help push each other up, and some we had to take a couple of runs at them.
Orange trails (single track) we went all the way up up up to the top of the mountain !!! Rocks, rocks , and more rocks !!!
We had a BLAST !!!

Hey guys,

I went through the member list and made a list off everyone east of the Mississippi. I will need some help PMing everyone, it has about 60 names on it... We need to create a new formal post for this ride, with all info in it. Also, we need to draft a PM to the ones who don't visit the site often. Also, there are a few other things I'd like to investigate that I will PM to ya'll later this evening. I should be around tonight for a chat...

Sorry guys can't make this ride. I'm a member of the Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan "CCC" and we have a Big Bear Trail Tour benefit ride. For Mott hospitals childerns brain tumors foundation. Great trail system, great get together. Some day I'd like to come to one of your UHE rides either East or West coasts. This time of year Mi has the great trails. You should come up to our CCC Six days of Michigan ride. Check it out!
