I have a question for all. Does the date really matter?? I mean kids back in school etc..

This in my opinion is an event that should be worked around rather than the other way around.

We have to account for the snow melt, which this year was later than most due to the massive amount of snow Colorado had this year.

As has been posted, mid to late July is the earliest we could plan it to make sure most trails are open.

Having the event after school is in session does merit consideration. I can tell you from experience the trail usage drops WAY off after school starts--which would be very nice.
The Taylor Park/Crested Butte area of Colorado attacts riders from all over the country during prime vacation season. It truly is a world class area. Planning an event after the start of school cuts most of the out of state visitors so it definitely would be less crowded.

i don't have kids but we talked of mid september. the price of flights would come down considerably. but i'll go with the flow you know? i didn't think we had to be there in the height/heat of the summer?

Taffy

I did a weather search on Crested Butte for mid September. Highs from 33F to 70F. A tad bit chilly.
Average temp for July last year 78F, August 74F September 59F.

Hey Ken your just used to the Valley of the Sun as far as temp goes.

Im with Taffy when ever it is good weather and not too crowded is fine with me. I will work around anything except riding above 90 f :D

Ditto on the 90F. That's why I only get to ride 2 or 3 times a year. Usually in mid January

I will admit that riding in 40F or less is not that appealing either.

:D Twisting arms to come to china hat will not happen, however the skill level of the

partisapents would get more for there money for sure. Can the location support all

levels of ability with shapporones to get everyone around? Just a thought for ya alll!

Ball buster, Taffy if i was'nt clear enough about the leadership to handle the force 3

ride you forgot to read what i posted! Feelers ? Hope it all works for ya all!

Boss out!

:D Oh ya not that you needed a turd like me to help with anything but i thought after

the last force get together you would at least take me for real!? What more needed

to be said?

Boss,
You may still get your wish about location, as China Hat is only 5 votes from the first pick in Colorado right now. Some of us wishing for a slightly more central location doesn't have anything to do with not taking you for real. I think everyone knows what a ride in your area under your leadership would bring to the table. It would be awesome.

Heck, I was hoping to be in your group for the next time just in case I had another flat, since you changed my flat so quickly on the Soverign Trail in Moab :D I still owe someone in that group their tube back. I still have it!

Unless anyone has any objections I would like to have Schwim combine these two threads into one thread to make the discussion more cohesive and to alleviate any possible confusion.

This ride sounds interesting. I would like to ride wherever there is more single track. I have never been on one of these rides before, but I think it would be fun. If you could let me know which venue has more single track, I will then submit my vote.

Gentlemen,

Since no one registered any protests about merging the two topics I went ahead put the two together.

All of the posts from the two threads have been merged together and put in chronological order.

My apologies about the poll not getting moved, the forum merge topics thingie said the poll would be moved to the new location but it didn't make it, I'll see if I can get that fixed.

I would also like to apologize for any confusion this is causing now, however, I believe that if this hadn't been done NOW, the two threads would have continued to grow separately and in the coming months would have been much harder to keep track of specifics. It had been considered to just lock one of the threads and inform all to use the remaining one, however, I didn't want anyone to feel like they just got there toes stepped on, so "I" decided in the absence of any protests to put the two together. I also left the shadow topic in the forum so that everyone could see that it had been moved.

I think that in the long run it will work out better to just have ONE thread concerning the FR3.

Okay fella's,

With a lot of help from Schwim I was able to re-establish a poll for the location, so re cast your votes.

Cracking Job Rick!!!!!!!!!!!

As usual you have taken some great pic's.

I think your report has definitely given everyone an idea of what they can expect of a FR that goes to Colorado.

Again, great job!!

Dale

Okay, okay already!! sheesh!:D

Logjump - This ride report and the great pictures are all the more reason that everyone who wants to attend Force Ride 3 next year place their vote.

Did we set a cut-off date for this vote? If not, I vote to end it on Sept 15th so everyone can get their plans in motion. Anyone disagree with this?

Logjump, this is the type of stuff the UHE members need to help them make a decision.

Thank you Logjump.

Mike

P.S. Love the picture of the wheelie on top of the hill.

what i'll do is go into the members list and set them to 'most posts', go down the list PM'ing a load to get their vote in.

regards

Taffy
