FE 450, 2005, Force Edition

Hello all!

Winter's coming.....I have my frame stripped and ready for sand blasting and powdercoating.....I'd like to fit the 3,5L aux tank that I got but don't know where to mount the tab for the CDI.

All the old pics are gone.....any suggestions?

Regards!

Hi M

I tried to think of a clever answer last night but ran out of clever :D

on my 700 I put it up on the headstock where the headlight usually is.. probably no good for you

I have seen people cable tie the CDI to the starter relay and there is some room on the RHS of the bike in front of the rear brake reservoir and plenty of room slightly forward of that in front of the smal diam frame brace but that is a bit vulnerable and closer to water.

the best place space wise if you are able to do it is directly under the air box up near the radiator, you would have to cut the pipe off where the engine vents into it and weld the tab there, it will be hotter in that location though.

you could use a smaller size but high performance lipo battery and put the cdi in the battery box or on top of it.

have fun!
cheers

Well gentleman,

what a pain to fit the simple aux tank.....
I have to say this Acerbis product is so far away from the reputation of the manufacturer and Husaberg too.

Cut tab, grind tab, bend tab, drill M8 hole, drill and tap a hole in the reservoir (the OEM hole was shot)....and I still don't know where to fit the CDI....damn it.

What do you think about fitting the CDI on the left side of the frame, just behind the headstock, like KTM's have? I could weld a tab to fix it there but I probably will have to lengthen the wires....??

Stupid tank. Still not giving 800€ for a Omero moto alu 15L tank.

Regards.

nice M

the location near the headstock is a very good place to put it

unfortunately I couldn't find enough room between the fork at full lock and the radiator, you may have more luck though

the KTM ones are a bit thinner, mounted differently and their radiators aren't so much in the way.

there is also room above the headlight but that means mounting it on the triple clamps and then the wires will be bending a lot with turning the bars.

saw this today M

its a KTM mod they like to move it to get more lock to lock from the steering, they can even buy a mounting plate

Hello all!
I wish you all a good and joy full 2015!

First and most important....Dakar 2015 starts tomorrow....

Two Husabergs 70 deg engines, ridden by team Berglund:

Rider sheet ANDERS BERGLUND :Dakar

Tipical for HBG owner.... :D

Secondly.....some random pics...
I'm trying to get the starter to work better, tightening the torque limiter to higher torque and shortening the freewheel spring....

Also some new rubber.... :D

Gentleman,

I have sourced a NEW (never used) 2004-2008 model subframe tank for sale. Pics attached. The same man has a 17L Clarke tank that I'd like to buy.

So now, I can offer you two 2004-2008 3,5L subframe tanks, one from the guy, and another from me. The guy asks for cca 150€ for the 3,5L tank.

As I told you, I had crazy luck and I payed for mine only 16 GBP. I don't intend to make money on it (or you) but would like to partially finance the purchase of the 17L tank by selling my subframe tank.

Last 3,5L subframe tank sold here went for cca 80€......so for mine I'm asking 80€ + shipping. I hope thats fair. If interested, please PM me.

After I sell mine, I will be more than happy to give you the contact of the other seller.

Also, I have for sale the tail piece in blue (2004-2008), an inner clutch basket (alu), used but in very good condition. I have an older style decomp cable (I believe it's pre 2004) and some other stuff....I'll post pictures here and make a thread in the add's section.

Regards!

M.

Mr. Berglund finished Dakar on a Husaberg in Malles Moto class.... ;)

As I sold my small aux tank and payed for the big Clarke here's the contact of a guy in Germany that's selling another.....

[email protected]

He want's 150€ for the aux tank but I believe he'd be willing to let it go for a lot less, maybe 100€ + shipping.

You can tell him that Mislav gave you the contact!

A quick question;

I have a new (never used) inner clutch basket (alu) seem off an older model, part #59032002500 that is superseded by part #59032002200. The only difference that I can see is that the threaded holes for spring retaining bolts of the older model are not bored all the way....the newer part has them bored all the way through, seems for additional lubrication of the clutch.

I'd like to put the new (never used-older model) basket in, do you think it's a mayor thing or should I stick with the newer (used) model?

Cheers!

M.

the end number .......200 was replaced by ...........250 and that was replaced by ............500

500 is the business!
