I had two FE 550's and sold one to a guy in Post Falls who licensed it for the road, but still runs knobs. He said he would sell it last time I spoke to him and I can get you two together. It is lighter than my FE 570 and makes a good dual sport which is what I had done with the other 550 which I kept. There are no 570's around here and no Husaberg dealerships, but I've owned and maintained 4 Bergs with the help of this Forum. I found my 570 on Craigslist and shipped it from Mississippi for $600 before they went scarce last Fall.

Husaberg or Husqvarna doesn't really make a difference now if you want a 570. The last year they produced a 70 degree engine was in 2012.
You have to buy a used one as I think you will struggle finding unsold 570s... I still recommend you to find one for you, it's a lovely bike :)

I'm in the same boat as you bergdreaming - there is this insistent yearning for a 570 that just won't go away.

Re. the picture on the wall - this has been the tiled background on all my work computers for a year or so. It seems to be working! ... knock on wood ...

Try to get to test-ride a 550 at least once :) They are insanely fun. I'm completely hooked after trying one - I'll need to have both. (And a Gas Gas FSE 450 just because they're sooooo pleasant to ride, and a DR-Z to perform horrifying mutilations on and ride through the salty winter slush on, and then a light 2-stroke - oh, and a Ducati Sport 1000. But then I'll probably stop.)

Someone asked about the colors of the real 2014 hva. A couple of guys here in Sweden were at a photo shoot a couple of weeks ago.
They talked about blue/yellow/white enduro and mx bikes. Pretty much what we have today = recolored ktm's with something extra (plastic subframe).

There are also talks about that the factory berg riders will be aboard hva's for six days this fall. Perhaps that will be the first official look of the '14 hva's...

Anyways, the point is I've been out of the loop for 3 years. But over the past week we've decided to move up to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho which is pretty much a dual sport playground. My Dad and brother live across the border in Spokane and I went out to visit for a couple weeks in 2006. Pretty much the best time I've ever had on a dirt bike!

if you are looking for a dual sport ride in a 570 not the bike for the inland northwest KTM 990 is more like it
if you want single track fun 570 and the area is the place to be
I live just north of CDA in Sandpoint just let me know if you want some single track fun

Bultaco, Ossa, Penton just of a few euro dirt bikes legends that I never had the chance to own when I was young! Fast forward twenty years back into dirt bikes and on a trail ride with the MI CCC there was this fellow selling a blue Euro bikes out of his camp site that looked a lot like an orange bike? So I took it for a ride (02 FX470E) it was a dream especially after doing sixty miles on a kdx220! So I bought it on the spot, a year later I bought a 03 FE400E for my son. A year later they go bust, enters KTM savior or not? Even with all of it poor engineering problems I still had the pleasure to own not one but two. Let Husaberg enter the ranks of past Euro greats! On a side note maybe they’re going to have duality thing? Husky two smoke line, All of Husaberg’s four smoke innovations for the four stroke side of Huskys name, now that could give KTM some $$$$$? :angry:

All of the brands you mention above were 2 stroke motorcycles.

Husqvarna made their name with 2-strokes and the Husqvarna TE510 was a motorcycle based on Husqvarna's 2 stroke motorcycle engine and frame.

The original Husaberg was based on the Husqvarna 510 four stroke design and the reason KTM bought Husaberg was for Husaberg's 4-stroke top end.

Looking back on all of this... Maybe if the Husaberg engineers focused their energy on two strokes instead of four stokes.... Husaberg would still be an independent Swedish motorcycle brand?

made in Austria to a USA design. maybe it was the USA's chance to egt back into big time production. instead KTM got it.

Isn't owning a Husqvarna the same as owning a legend.

You do know it was HUSQVARNA that brought MOTOCROSS TO AMERICA... and if it wasn't for Husqvarna motocross would never have existed as we know it today.

Now that's a legend!
 
Husky, its looking that way. So whats your next bike, I'm leaning toward the orange crush.
 
I bought my '05 FE 450 brand spanking new off the showroom floor.. It still runs better than I can ever hope to ride.. I will ride it till it will not ride any longer, then hang it on the wall.. I can only hope the Swedish designers get picked up and continue with their innovation..

Haha, maybe it is :)

Interesting also that my favorite dual-sport tire, the Mitas XT-644 a.k.a. Trelleborg Army Special, has the same knob pattern as the vintage motocross machines in the Husqvarna Heritage story.
