Cush-drive on RGV250 motard wheel

Vegard or anyone with a cast RGV250 rear wheel on their motard:

How is the cush-drive is set up on these wheels? I got a RGV rear & the rubber cushion blocks are thicker one side to the other with the two sides of the block joined by a web.

On the RGV with the chain on the LHS drive is thru the thick side of the blocks to give more cushioning. When flipped over to put the chain on the RHS for the 'berg the drive would be thru the thin side and consequently have heaps less cushioning, but perhaps that is OK.

The blocks aren't reversible without mods. It might be possible to cut the web joining the thick & thin sides of the block & put the bits in seperately the other way round but there is a chance that, without the webs, the thin ones might get spat thru the holes you can see behind the rubbers into the centre of the wheel hub. Might also be possible to split the thin block down the centre & glue the piece to the thin side, don't know how that would work.

Anyone know what might be best to do?


P.S. Anyone in Oz have a rear RGV brake disc they don't want too much for? The one on the wheel I got is not original & WAY too big to fit the 'berg caliper.
 
You may want to see if the KTM/Berg cushions would work, they look to be about the same based on the picture and they are equal on either side.
 
I used it as it was from the factory. No mesing about. BUT, I had several "teeth" break but I got hold of another. I was thinking about getting the "teeth" welded up as they are hollow, but now I've got a new bike :)

Remember that the chain bos will have to be machined a bit. If you wonder I can help you, I'll just have to measure.
 
Thanks all. I'll try to use the cush drive as is first up. I can tool with it later if I get the inclination.

My RGV rear wheel had been previously modified to fit to a Yamaha something or other & after making new wheel spacers the brake disc & sprocket will line up to within 1mm of where they are supposed to be! :D The wheel bearing bores are luckily too big rather than too small so the spacers will have sleeves that go up inside the bearings. The brake disc was not RGV & was too big in all directions but I'm fairly sure I can turn & grind it to size. I think an original RGV disc is 10mm too small in diameter anyway!

The front wheel I have is off a Yamaha FZX250 (Zeal?) & once the RGV rear is painted will be a perfect match. Although one has Suzuki & the other has Yamaha cast into it I reckon the two wheels came out of the same factory. The 3 spokes will even lean in the same direstion on the bike as the front wheel has to be flipped over like the rear to put the single brake disc on the correct side. The bores in its bearings are likewise oversize & spacers with sleeves will be easy to turn up. :D The wheel will need about 5mm of unnecessary material machined off each side near the bearing bosses but otherwise should fit well. The drake disc has an offset in it and flipping it over on the wheel so the dish is inward will sit the caliper 7or8mm further toward the centre of the bike to where it is now - ideal thickness for a quickly removable caliper adapter plate. I'll try to post pix when it is together.

I will be able to fit the mechanical speedo drive on the FZX wheel, but since the wheel is smaller in diameter the speedo should read about 17% too high. Anyone know if a different ratio speedo drive can be had as I quite like the simple look of the mechanical speedo?
