Hi Bushie,

Are you going to use that crank in the Linerweaver motor? and
how is it progressing?

I must admit I am a little excited as to how the 628 with a light crank
will run, not sure if it has been done before?

Cheers spanner

Oh and the crankpin requires EDM and I will have to get someone
to do that for me.

hey Spanner

i got 2 timken 22206 bearings via shipito last week, 68KN rated and 9800 rpm C3

next job is machining the cases and making sleeves for them.

I shouldn't complain about being busy with work but Im flat out prolly till end june, when I do get some time off i find myself going for a ride on the 700 .... holy crap I love my bike !!!!! mopedsmile:

Hi Bushie,

Possibility of another 20% reduction in weight overall with
cnc I think.
Big bearings add friction But may not be necessary
Unless you have a massssssssive paddle Tyre

Could You take some pictures of all the process?
Why Timken not other company? They are Italy made right?

I like the nachi 22206 it has a higher load rating but i found the old surplus stock timkens on ebay for $50 each, since the design is the main thing im not too concerend with the counry of origin, mine say italy

FWIW timkens are made all over the place including in china, india

:D "Bigberg" was going to try lightening his ..

I think I will try it later on if needed, easy to get to and the main reason I made my crank lighter is to reduce spreading loads

why did you decide to go with the stock rod and not the carillo spanner?

Weight, and it was rubbing on the case when I checked it.
Got the std rod down to 359 grms with a bit of grinding yesterday
think I will mill around the little end eye to remove some
more, using the Carrillo sizes as a guide, got to good for something.

Any idea what a FC rotor weighs?

thats unfortunate about the rod

I got mine to about 348 i think,

can taper the little end quite a bit as well as reducing the OD.

no idea about the fly wheel weights

Just got a FC flywheel for $60:) Just need a good stator now? stuff the lights:eek:

I think the spreading forces are mostly caused from reciprocating weight,
which as you know is hard to make a meaningful reduction.

Do not know if I can get a refund or a correct sized rod now as I started to
lighten the Carrillo:( but might be worth a try:)

Original Husaberg rod with a bit of fettling. I love fettling:)
Out for shot peening now.
Going to surface grind a taper on the sides of the little end when I get it back.
Final weight should be around 143grms 27grms less than stock.

The Carrillo is back in its box. :D

PEEK cage, Husaberg rod lightened polished and shot peened, lightened flywheel.
Rebalanced to original factor. Soon to be pressed and trued. Pin to be Laser welded;)

very nice Spanner

impressive to see your attention to aesthetics on the outside of your bike is also applied to the insides :thumb:

I spend all day at work making things look pretty for other people so when its just for me I go rebellious :D
