Hi
I'm in Australia and about to embark on a total 98' FE600E resto. Have done one before on a 98' FE400 (and I mean total).
Question - Can or will a 04' 440 sub frame fit on a 98 frame? Maybe with some small mods. I plan to slide a 04' carbon fibre rear kit on if possible.
Will fill u in on all the other info later and load pics as I go
Cheers

RE: 98

G'day, You do know that an '04 has a welded on sub-frame? it would be a major job to get everything along the line to shape up. From the subframe to start with, then seat/tank junction and so on. I do appreciate your enthusiasm but this a big job on an old bike now, would it be worth it?
If you need a hand with bits you can call me.
Best Regards
Sutto

RE: 98

Others have in the past fitted later model plastics to the older frame without too much trouble. Probably pics in someone's gallery? I have thought about it for my 98 501, even to the extent of having some plastics here in the shed to use, just gotta get around to it. I did however get almost a full set of older non fluro yellow plastics on ebay for, OTTMH, about $30 so I might head in that direction.

Hi Chriss
I wasn't sure but thanks for the info. I might give it a miss then. I was mainly motivated by the lack of original plastics and decals around. Almost any that are available are too trashed to use. I have found a set in USA though and am currently bidding for them. Will see if they are as good as they look in the add photo's when they arrive.
Cheers
