I know not everyone will like what I decided to do to the swing arm. When I get bike back together I will decide how much I still like it. This is the same Stone Guard Black chip resistant paint I used on the triples.

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks Aaron!

I am now also in the process of building custom foot peg mounts so I can install the nice wide IMS pegs. Old Husabergs had the opposite mounting style of modern pegs. These mounts will be much stronger then the OEM turds.

My next, next project. Not sure whether to make the fin and weld on or spend all the time to make a one piece.

Tires mounted now. I hate these rotors and I will do whatever I can do to get them replaced.

I cant over look that they get very rusty after you wash them. They must not be made from 420 SS. This might not be a big deal to some, but since I am resto-modding this bike that is not acceptable to me.

The Artrax tires are total POS..... When I went to take mine off I didn't even need tires irons, the side walls are so weak I just pushed them over the rim.

I haven't had any problems with my Artrax TG4s on the 480 and you said you liked the MX-Pros when you had them on your 01 CR250, so I figured I would give the SE3s a shot. Only time will tell I guess.

If you put any time on the tires you'd find out how bad they are. The CR250 only had 10 rides on them before I sold it and all MX track so they were just about to start breaking down. :(

Well, enough about tires.

Hoping to get the foot pegs finished this week. I think I am at the short end of that lil project.

I have decided to wait on the frame work till I decide if I am going to add a steering damper. As well as get the skid plate figured out/built.

Hi guys,

Been extremely busy while on summer break working at a friends machine/auto/R&D shop. Lots of general dirt bike ideas planned and a few 501 parts in the works.

Noticed that Beta copied my swing arm idea :)

I wish this build wasn't taking sooooo....long! As I progress through school and new doors are opened to me on how to design, test and build things (that my heart desires) I stray from my 501 build. I am currently working on a 2T Al connecting rod (with research paper), innovative anti-vibration handle bar mounting system plus endless custom dirt bike parts. Some Husaberg, CR500, and dirt scooters in general.

FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY I got my new rotors for the 501! This was quite the process! With EBC being the only company to respond to my search (via old rotor measurements). Sadly, these rotors were not available in the US, no one could order them for me because they were not in their US books. I had to call in a favor to my parts guy and have him get his Western Powersports rep to search and special order (no returns) them from the EU.

They look great and match each other. These rotors are from 2 separate makes of different years. The rear fit perfect, but I will have to buy flanged fasteners to mount the front. Easy peasy :)

Hoping to show another update next week!
