70 degree aux. Fuel tank deliveries

Great Dale,

Did I see two slits for a strap near the end of the seat?

That would be great.

No those are the stock holes for the wiring to the tail light........

UPDATE: 07-28-12

My meeting wit the new molder went very well! I met all the staff that would be doing all the work, owner of the company, production foreman, the guy running the parts, the QC guy, and of course the financial guy.

They were all super helpful and interested in what the part was for as none of them are dirt bike folks.

I checked over the part they had made and it looks really good. They had been able to repeatedly produce this part and QC them. They were concerned about one thin spot by the fuel connection, but, I told them it had always been a little thin in that area. They had a fix they wanted to try to help increase the heat in that area to help with the flow of the material.

They are going to try running some parts with the newly available XLPE material that I mentioned before as they feel it is a superior material.

We talked about when they would be in "production" and I asked if that would be possible towards the end of next week ( August 3rd) and they said yes. That puts me right on target to be able to ship out the majority of the tank kits by the 20th and possibly a little earlier.

I will post again as soon as I start receiving parts to ship out!!!

??? (Bump to front page)

and you thought you'd have a look at this thread and it would say they'd be READY!
   L O L are you kidding me

So.... Are there any updates or does the fairy story continue... The lack of contact from a company that took my money nine months ago is staggering... They rarely answer emails, before Dale took over it was even worse, part sentence answers to the eternal question of 'when will I have the product that I have paid for'.

It's good to remind Dale but please be not so negative.

There must be some reason for this extra delay (complexity again)?

Dale, could you please provide us some explanation here?

And could you please confirm that all the money is still there and that you have enough of it to reimburse all people who made a complete payment in case you would stop the project?

I don't have any shares in this project, I'm just a customer who made a downpayment, just like you.

Reading btn the lines, Dale would be more pi%%ed than anyone. Imagine investing your money, knowing there were heaps of buyers, then having to wait and wait on other people. Then seeing the 70 degree motor sidelined. Then stressing whether the new tanks would be any good. It would truly truly suck.

Good luck to him.

I'm still running mine 450 in. (I've taken it out of the lounge room) If I have to wait a few more months it won't really matter to me as I reckon this is a 5 year bike for me, I"m still riding the local area and already can get about 140kms at avg 40km/h riding.

Thanks BB.........You summed it it up quite nicely. I'm not pissed though, just really wanting to start making deliveries!

And thanks Noppy I appreciate your post as well. To answer your question, yes all the money is still there. And yes, this is a complex piece.

We are working very hard to get a QUALITY product out to all of you who have placed your orders, and to all of those who are waiting to hear from me that they are available so that they can place their orders. I cannot over state my appreciation to those of you who have shown great patience in waiting for this product.

To reiterate Blackboots post, no one wants this product to be on its way more than we do!

My original estimate on a production date was wrong. At that time everything pointed to an early August production date. We have made several upgrades to the hardware and the process to make sure we have addressed some of the occasional issues that we had before.

The thin spot that I mentioned in my July 28th posting has been thickened by modifying the mold.

We were down for a couple of weeks replacing the tooling that produces the NPT threads for the fuel inlet and vent line (we had extra's made), and we also drilled out several of the tool holes in the aluminum mold casting and installed bushings to tighten up the fit of the tooling in the mold. Please keep in mind that this mold has produced 500+ parts and like anything else it needs maintenance.

I am going to be meeting with the production staff this coming Friday to have a look at the product and see where we are at. I will post again then and let you all know where we are at.

Like some others, I am awaiting a tank. I am financially "invested".

After posting an email to Dale sometime last weekend, I was surprised to get a phone from Dale call early one morning last week. We had a good chat. Now, let me just say, I've never met Dale. This was the first time we've spoken... but sometimes you "get a feeling" about someone by talking to them for a bit. I got a good feeling.

So, these words are my opinion... nothing more.

I will reiterate what has been said, Dale wants these tanks delivered more than we do. BUT, he's not willing to sacrifice quality. These are extremely complex molds and some pretty major engineering problems have been encountered. And solved.

I for one would rather have a quality product that is going to work for the long term. This is what Dale wants too. I'm willing to wait for that.

I personally am glad to see that this thread hasn't degenerated into a slanging match.

I've sent "multiple" requests over the past four weeks with no response. I understand that there maybe production issues, but being "invested" with no response is simply unacceptable.

He might be on a holiday. Give him some slack. Probably driving his Husa somewhere

c'mon Dale

We deserve to know whats going on after nearly nearly 10 months and lots of false promises...... events are coming and going, people are buying new bikes.
how abou real info, will it happen or should we start looking at Safari tanks and refunds??
