It's all good. When I saw that blinged out blue-framed CR, it just struck a nerve I guess. I can't stand bling for no other point than looks. It's like whipped cream on $hit.

I guess if your bound and determined to ride a 500 two-stroke, that'd be the way to go.[/quote]

No arguments on the blue thing - ick

No thanks on the 500cc 2S - well at least in the dirt. I would like to have my 500 Gamma back though, especially in a modern chassis - now that would be fun.

Apparently I still have a thing for 2S's - I'll see if I can get some help for that... :)

Cheers

You thought Husaberg re-sale was bad...try reselling a 10K+ Open class two-stroke with engine technology from 1985 (no power valve, no plated cylinder). Talk about a polished turd.

johnf3,
resale---do you buy a bike to sell it or ride it? some say the same for husabergs.
turd---imo you didn't even hit the target let alone get near the bullseye. i have a 93 cr500 and love it. power valve? you don't hear too many complaints about not-enough power on a cr500 so why put one on? weren't they introduced to help 250cc? and if you do want, and can afford, power just polish and port the thing. it will rev like a 125cc.
i would love on of those service honda 500s. so turd? again, some say the same for husabergs.

vanilla ice cream for everyone!

so i guess if everyone doesn't like what you like they are a fool?
it's probably a texas thing huh?

Easy there Mr. Tuts. Nothing personal, just my opinion. I didn't pass judgement on any person, just a bike. It was meant as a discussion in good fun with guys on this board who I trust wouldn't get their riding shorts all torqued up. Must be a Tuts thing.

Ride whatever makes you happy.

The CR is tut's spare bike but gets a lot of riding time because it works. I always believed that the CR500 was overkill on two wheels, but his goes anywhere it is pointed and does it with style. He mounted a Maxxis IT and now the thing hooks up incredibly well on hills and in loose sand washes...
Many of us cut our teeth on similar bikes and graduated to modern (?) four strokes when the market shifted. I bought my first Husaberg in 1998, but still occasionally get misty over a memory jogging smoker.. The Service Honda 500AFX is a neat mix of old and new.
If I thought that I could kick start the beast I wouldn't mind having one, but although diversity is the Spice of Life, I think I'll keep my berg.

So you and Tuts have spare bikes in Vegas, eh. So my next business trip, all I have to pack is my gear...hmmm. :D

Johnf3,
No problem. We can always scare up a bike for a UHE member. Just give us some lead time.
Me, tuts, and vinman1513 would enjoy the company.

I take one look at that service Honda and my mind drifts off into large sand dunes, a big paddle tire, and fifth gear wheelies that last forever....old technology? yes! with 70hp, who needs high tech? there is more motor there than anybody can handle. Well back under my rock, good day.

08 Bergs

I think that Husaberg has a year or two to turn things around or they will go the way of the dinosour.

I will be in shock if they make an all new bike for 08?

Not sure KTM would want that anyway?

It will not be long till 08.
