mods?

i can't fathom how, having done all the hard work and reported here that nobody has tried the following more often:

short offset KTM triples = superb
tall seat = best mod i've done
even taller seat = well if you like it tall go taller!
ignition adjusted = changed my bike
heated and narrowed tank = feels a lot better and free!
LHRB = wouldn't think of going back to standard and neither would you

could mention many things but i won't this time.

i just wonder aloud why nobody has done any of these things?

regards

Taffy

I took you up on the tall seat, Taffy. Superb mod and not expensive. Handlebars are raised 1/2", will try 1" soon. Fitted newer, wider drop-nose front fender on my ´02 after a race on a muddy track where I noticed sticky mud was thrown forward/upward and into my own face. Hope it will make a difference.
I am also taking advice from your document in general.
LHRB seems natural to me, coming from bicycling, so a rekluse is planned once x-mas is paid off.

Keep it coming!

aaaah! that's what i like to hear!

is that scooby doos erstwhile friend on the left there?

regards

Taffy

taffy
done the high seat great mod
04 bars feel sweet as they are
bk mod on the fcr
quick release conectors on the fuel lines , well worth it cost pence
rekcluse fitted
black rims talon hubs , look great for the first 10 mins
led rear light
but the best mod is the long O ring looped through the rear mudder were those rubber bungs are to stop it hitting the exhaust ,leaving a loop hanging down to stop the side stand flapping around, ill try and post a pic

Taffy.....you need to add the auto clutch in conjunction with the LHRB to your list.

And unseen, but not forgotten:

1) BOSS Radiator Guards
2) FastWay Adjustable Pegs
3) IMS Gas Tank Breather for the AUX. tank
4) JBS Racing 750 Kit
5) Revloc Auto Clutch
6) 20 X 1.85 and 18 X 2.5 rims

Ken

could you post a pic or pics of the damper please?

Is it the integrated RTT style or the remote mounted Emig style?

I've wanted to try either or both of these systems, not at the same time though!!

Hey Fry -

It's the 20mm RTT for the KTM... works great! I'll try to get some pix up for ya'. I choose Emig for the lower because of their wider grip and triple bolt design.

Sierra Club will hate you.
750cc and 200000GW headlights will leave wildlife dead in your tracks.
Amazed, dazed, and ... dead. They WILL get on your ***...
Serious Q: Why would you want the lights fixed (in a turn), or do you figure wattage willl even it out?
Mounted at an angle apart?
I suppose those are TrailTech HID´s?
Standard electrical otherwise?
Curious. Hey, it´s freakin dark up here right now. I use a 65W H4 crammed into the "newer" stock euro all-plastic headlight. No meltdown so far since september (I think 65W works in this climate.)

Taffy:

Hey, sorry for speaking out without giving you proper credit in the earlier sussie thread. I didn´t mean to take anything away from you. I just don´t want anyone to get bogged down in highly tech stuff while forgetting THE BEGINNING where we all start (and I am still.)
Since I have way more miles on a bike than a motorcycle yet, I advocate the basic simple-first method. Push your left down and then your right, ...Deep diving analysis can discourage beginners, no matter how correct.
I do not favor a parallell "less knowledgeble" discussion, but there is always the alternative to the optimal maintenance that would appeal to a beginner. I would have never been hooked if it wasn´t for my buddy who GAVE ME his old yama and told me to drive it until it DRIVES NO MORE and HAVE FUN MEANWHILE....no mention of maintenance...
I did, and here I am. Now an aspiring nerd in this here subject....
Wasting more than time....
Suppose it´s like smoking. Makes no sense at first...

The mud is now frozen...

short offset KTM triples = I have already done this, but I have not been able to ride it yet. Sounds good.
tall seat = ******** idea for short riders (like me) doing technical riding
even taller seat = the devil's tool
ignition adjusted = like I need more power to kill myself with
heated and narrowed tank = why would I want to increase the risk of pushing the bike back to the truck?
LHRB = what is an lhrb?

Good on ya brendan mate and chas im sure its short for left hand rear brake
