i think the whole idea of adjusting the preload to adjust sag is wrong. i think you should set the preload to specs, like 10mm then adjust the preload 1-2mm at a time to see if you have found a better setting. but this whole idea of cranking down on the spring so you get 1xx mm of sag is...
