I've got a deeply pitted valve seat on my 2004 fc450, and everyone who can fix it is on holidays here for the whole of August. I have a complete head from an 03 650 and was wondering if it could be used without any major modification

Make sure you put some lock tite on your steering head nut....it will rattle off....mine did yesterday and my friends did it last year after a few rides.

Do you think the bergs reliability would be improved if the cylinder head were forced oil feed in addition to just relying on the cam chain's lubrication ? I noticed on the highland engine, which looks similar to the berg, that the head has an oil feed. Tom
