Why isn't MotoXotica listed as a dealer on the Dealer locator at www.husaberg.se?

Just a question to be thrown out there by inquiring minds.

They may have not inked their new contract with KTM. The new contract is purported to be different than the old one. Hopefully KTM will see the light and not make a move to mega-retailers who may be able to purchase a large inventory up front but usually cannot sustain a long term relationship with an exotic bike owner. This has already happened once in our area and did not work. I have my eye on an 2009 model but really don't want to purchase it from the Yamahakawasakisuzukihonda dealer. They just don't understand me

The exact same thing happened here. They were a dealer for under 6 months.

They still have the demos in the used section :)

thanks,

Hopefully Dan will still be a Husaberg Dealer. The big ? is what is KTM wanting out of the dealerships, lets see all 08 bikes will be red sticker and a complete new model due for 09 what kind of sales do you think any Berrg Dealer will have in eco crazy Calif.

5 years ago a buddy of mine looked into being a KTM dealer, KTM wanted him to purchase a certain amount of bikes including 1-2 year old 2-stroke MX bikes, you couldn't give those away if you tried so he passed!.

Last I heard, no California dealers have signed up!

That sounds like a real problem, and a should be a glaring wake up call for KTM.

This whole thing is starting to sound as though there is no N/A importer. Reminds me of the whole Bob Knight fiasco when KTM got rid of it last time.

I used the dealer ship locator on the se site with the 1000 kilometer setting and there was 6 dealers listed the closest being 143 klicks. 3 dealers listed in california, one in nevada, one in arizona, one in medford. 3 in california, and not one in socal. Sounds like a FANTASTIC business plan!!!

Red sticker bikes do no good in CA...so this is likely why CA dealers are shying away, luckily we dont have that issue yet in Oregon. Also, we are fortunate to be just over the CA/OR border. However, we had to jump through some hoops to remain a Berg Dealer, such as a completed Business Plan (not a real easy task but a good idea anyway), we had to up our flooring capability, and I had to sell our sales abilities (demo rides, customer loyalty, reputation). We basically figured that to sell Husabergs would be a privelage in KTM eyes (and ours too) and that already being a berg dealer is not a given for remaining one. Dixie (Barrett actually) handed out dealerships like candy and luckily for us we were in it at the right time. With our bike sales numbers (close to top in country) and alot of hard work and fast delivery of our business plan, I think a combo of things helped us. Now, we just have to perform, as I think KTM will likely be more concerened with the bike sales numbers than Dixie was.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to jump through the hoops and remain a dealer.

Something is fishy here b/c KTM knows that red sticker bikes don't sell that much here in the peoples republik of CA. I mean, what are they thinking? REALLY. No spark arrestors etc... AND what about all of us Husaberg owners here in california who need parts and sevice? This is actually worse then when there was no n/a distributor, at least then there was still dealers for service and I could get parts through this site. Now, if I need motor work I'd have to drive to Taft.

Further, who does KTM think is going to sell the new Berg's to here is Ca? IT would appear that they really haven't either thought that out, or don't give a crap. In case they don't know it Taft is a pretty small town out in the sticks, comparitively speaking. Nothing against Taft, I've raced there a few times and it's a nice place.

KTM had better come up with a better plan than what they've got so far. Sounds to me like they are turning their backs on those that have supported them through the last several years while the Husaberg reputation was being established, and are for some reason trying to squeeze these guys.

I have a question: Did KTM require you to take a certain amount of 08 bikes as a conditional aspect of remaining a dealer?

I thinkith that KTM is F%$#ing Nuts to treat the dealers (especially in Repuplic of Kalif.)that have made & stuck with Husaberg for all these years like S&%T. ust my thoughts!!
I know that if I was a dealer in Kalif. and was told I had to purchase a set amount $00,000.00 somehwere between 20-40, bikes are red sticker, no odometer, no lights etc... (I think most Berg riders are a bit older, mostley off-riders not closed course racers) really no changes from 07 and a complete new bike coming in 09 I was say HELL NO!!! Most Berg dealers are small (the best kind because they care and take care of us riders) and this is a big chunk of change.

Just dont give up on your CA dealers for parts, I know a few that still stock a bunch, and if they dont have something, they can get it....I'll leave it at that. I'm sure some CA dealers will turn up, afterall, the 09s seem pretty incredible.

Wouldn't it be nice to hear KTM's take on the whole re-apply as a dealer, No Calif dealer, Red Sticker, no Spark Arrestor mess thay have created!

I wonder if anyone at KTM USA even looks at this web site.

I sent an inquiry to Husaberg.se asking about the lack of Calif dealers and have not received a response. Maybe others here should do the same.

Wow, this is incredible. The largest market for dirt bikes on the planet, and no direction for the existing dealers ? I don't really have the time to research all the email addresses, myself , but if they could be provided here I would like to support all the "little" guys out here. No berg dealer in my town , and the KTM-Suzuki-Kawasaki-Polaris dealer sucks to go to. I can provide KTM's part # and they can't get me the part. All conversations start with "what mfg. model & Yr. ? I guess you have to start there for the computer to work. For that matter my brother has an 89 KTM 500 MXC and it only took them 3 months to get all the Dellorto jets to him to set it up for he elevations here. He also provided the exact part # he wanted. Anybody email Jimmy Lewis yet ? It would seem to be a huge marketing blunder is in the offing for KTM. Without the guys here, Husaberg/KTM is nothing. Taffy send over the Shercos ! Who knew this is how he would make his millions.

I think we could learn to like one of these or one of these

I already love the TM's and a lot of dirt riders here are turning towards Gas Gas. 2T's are also a part of the mix.

 Wow, how quickly people turn...I still love the Bergs (sure my opinion is biased). Dont get me wrong SHerco is a good bike (heck, I raced our 2005 450 at the Fall Classic Team Race), so is GG (asuming you like 2-smokes), I dont know TM so I cant make a judgement on those (except that they are pretty spendy), however, nothing rides, acts, sounds or performs like a Husaberg. Some like it, some dont, but whenever someone rides a demo that have never been on a Berg before, they are always pleasantly surprised.
