Grew up in the bush, no money never the right tools, like a lot of Aussie kids I learnt to fix everything with whatever was available

now i have nearly every machine tool and gadget you could ask for but i still love doing things with a minimalist approach so as to encourage people to have a go at "tricky stuff" in their backyard sheds just like I did when I was 10 :)

A lot of my mates used to tease me about my Swedish girl, that was one of the names they devised. The name lasted untill the first few Roostings were dished out. :glasses7:

When I started racing, I always filled out my name with my middle initial E.

One of my club members used to make sure to tease me about being

Dale "E" Covington......

At that time Johnny 'O' Mara was riding quite well, if memory serves the year I started riding he won the Moto X Des Nations on a Honda Mugen 125. Beat all the 250's and 500's on it. So at some point his handle became Johnny 'O' Show.

For some reason, it was certainly not for any riding ability that approached Johnny 'O', my friends started calling me Dale "E" O. I've been going by that nick name for 32 years now.

UHE was my first forum and I didn't 'get' the user name thing.

Now I'm BergDonk everywhere else. Donk is part of my surname, you know my Christian name

I like coffee!

I buy green beans and roast them every week so I have some great fresh coffee every morning. That and a lack of creativity.......

I tried my hand at roasting this Christmas - gave my parents some green beans and a "voucher" for roasting services for them :) Roasted them in a cast-iron skillet. It was a wonderful experience and the coffee was really something else. Nice expensive Rwandan single-origin "Birembo" beans. Very subtle fffreeessssh taste to the coffee. Near impossible to put into words.

Re. my nickname - I'm just a clueless anorak wandering around taking pictures :)

tourist is also from the ancient UNIX computer game Nethack. It's a very complex dungeon-crawling game made out of letters and symbols. Winning it is for sure harder than rebuilding a 'Berg motor. You play a small @ symbol wandering around an enchanted maze made out of computer characters, dodging magical traps and dragon fire ... and you can play as a tourist. Who is weak, clueless, harmless, and starts out with an expensive camera, a credit card, and a hawaiian shirt.
