Wear sleeve?

Has anyone been able to come up with a wear sleeve for the waterpump shaft? Mine is grooved already and "weeps" constantly when running. I'll change the seal again and try to position it a little differently if possible(deeper?). I was thinking a wear sleeve like on diesel crank rear main would make a tighter fit for the seal and possibly be made of harder steel. Or, taking a few loops out of the spring on the seal. Can't remember what I did to cure my 450's issue. Yes, I use the little white boot cone tool for installing the cover. Just a minor annoyance, same old same old.

I thought the OB kit was a new w/p bearing and seal configuration for the oil leak from the weep hole. My 450 did that. I just loctited the outer race to the clutch cover to keep it from "floating" from the loose fit. Please enlighten me and tell me more!!!!

Very interesting, I think I'll get one of those kits and try it. Oddly enough, I pulled the side cover to do the w/p seal again and noticed it had traveled severaval mm deeper and crooked. Two weeks ago I installed the seal, I know it was flush. The day after the repair I crashed hard and smashed the w/p cover and clutch cover on a rock. It bent the hell out of the force skid plate in the process. I rode it 1/2 mile to the trail head with no coolant. It did not weep/leak prior to my crash. When I got a new w/p cover the impeller looked fine so I did not re-inspect the seal. Is it possible that the impact created a hydraulic force sufficient to move the seal? I don't know. I am 100% sure I installed the seal properly. This time I replaced the w/p bearing also, it fits VERY tightly in the cover compared to my 450. I'll do some more riding and see if it leaks. Thanks for the info, any thoughts on the seal "moving" from the crash?
