mechanic phoned a few days ago to say that my head gasket was fine and the emulsified oil was caused from o ring near water pump had got out of place BUT the more concernign part of the conversation was this....... There was soo much f#!$'n silicone used to put the bike back together when the piston and barrel was put in 500 mile ago that it had blocked oil feeds and its amazing it didnt blow on me!
Said that the filter was dry from that feed being blocked and so far he had pulled half a tube of sealant out of the engine.
He is currently flushing all the feeds out with compressed air and wire.
The 3 liner o rings were burnt away and need replaced. Other than that the engine looks fine and with new main bearings it should go back together fine, even better.
Its a blessing the water o ring gave when it did or things could have been allot worse
Wheels are polished and frame is going black. Should all be up and running next week :)

I'm personally happy to hear that your back on track. Bergs don't need no stinkin' oil pump anyway........What's with people using all this silicone anyway. Get some Volvo anerobic sealant, brush it on and it will stay where you put it. Well, good luck from here on. 8)

And with all that extra sealant you did not get any particles of it in the oil screen?

There, that wasn't so bad afterall.I am glad to see that you decided to check your motor out.On another note,in the early eighties i had a customer with a 550 Honda chopper. He had his friend silicone shut the oil galleries going to the head and FRY! everything including a brand new a Yoshimura cam.I have really good success with Loctite 515 and unlike Buckleys it tastes pretty good.Cheers
