Taffmaister..don't buy/trust!

Taffy, you shouldn't advertise bikes as mint when you know they aren't. We all know how much it cost to make them mint, that is how you make a living.
It takes a lot of money and time to change it all and to check it all. In parts and labour, you have to get a bike for almost nothing to sell it for 3000 and make a profit.
We all know that to sell a bike in a budget you have to cut some corners, some times you get away with it ... some times you don't.
When you don't you must try to solve the best way possible.

A bike like this I would sell it in a "good running condition", not as top rebuild engine.

this is the problem IMHO

its called false advertising.

most of the time customers are not mechanically experienced or inquiring enough to notice or to able to check.. but that doesn't make any difference, false claims are still false.

ie cam chain that is "30%lighter and 30% stronger" than standard = BS its 6% heavier. tis a good chain so why the BS ?

i could go on but its not worth my time, false advertising is WRONG in anyone's books.

on this site there have been many husberg vendors besides taffy, none of them have a negative review anywhere because they are honest.

you reap what you sow, ie BS and insults .... oh **** look what happens

Hi

As I said before, I would prefer to buy a cheap bike and do it myself, but I understand that not everyone has the knowledge or the time to do it.

I've been buying used bikes all my life, almost never bought a new one, and even I sometimes get it wrong. Paolo probably didn't had the experience to do it also.

But, in this case, if I was Paolo, I would do it in a different way. When I noticed that the bike was not perfect, I would put it in Taffys front door and told him, "this is not how I want it, this is not how it's suppose to be, so open it a check what is wrong with it and then we will see how can we solve this problem".

I'm not from England, but once a friend asked me to buy a 470 from DCR. It was advertised as a running bike, not a fresh rebuild, so I warned him about BERGS, but he wanted to go forward anyway, and it was cheap.

Received the bike in a box after some adventures, put the bike together and didn't liked it, it was almost impossible to start, had the usual issues, specially with a 470.
Opened the engine and it was not good at all, it wasn't really a running bike, it was almost a not running bike.

So, talked with Dave and told him, I have a problem here, I know I didn't bought a perfect engine, but it was not suppose to be this bad. So now, since I opened it, I don't have the possibility to make a half decent engine, I have to make a perfect one. So can you help me with this ??

So we found a common ground, bought some parts, he offered others, and I was more then happy with the deal that we made. I was very well impressed with the attitude of Dave, since I was one guy on the other side of the ocean that he probably will never see again.

Again with Taffy I also had some problems, I confess I was furious some times, but changed some emails and solved the problems.

So this is me saying that some times things don't go as we planed, but is also important how you deal with the problem after the damage is done.
Also the vendors attitude dealing with the problems it's his best publicity.

problem with taffy is that when I caught him ..he stated he could't remember anything but he actually does...if i compare phone call and email he state he has done A, then become B on the next one and C in the one after...I wasn't going to bring anything to him and never will you can't ******** in this way a customer, he knew about all those problems

DC sold a bike as running order ...if it was taffy would be like ''top end engine rebuild worth 2000 new this and new that'' double price ...but when you actually open it its not, so the customer reaction change by a lot especially if you are a dealer/shop owner claiming to be a specialist

I bought used bike in the past and I never see anything like this one, I have never dealt with a such person in his own, this is my first time ever that I am seriously piss off about a service

Hoosaberg --> I would never ask for money to the community...it's not so much about money like some people were saying (i am lucky enough to have a good job) ...taffmeister is the one who owns me money for principle not other

The problem with this thread as well as all the other stone throwing threads i've seen is that it's toooo long.
The point was made a looong time ago.
Geesh, guys, get a life!

With the utmost respect, I'd be more convinced to relax a little if there were ever this kind of push on Taffy to behave better, both as a party that is actively trying to establish himself as "the" source for this cult brand of bikes we love and then ***** on people who buy from him (this is a known fact!), and as someone who has obviously and repeatedly attacked well-meaning and innocent forum members for only attempting to educate themselves and not immediately eat out of Taffy's hand.

Taffy. Is. The. Problem.

Not paolo6, or the length of this thread.

Man is inherantly stubborn.
If you tell him to stop doing something or enough is enough it will most certainly continue.
At this point the thread seems to be morphing into another Title.
I can't seem to figure what that Title might be yet though.

Let's just all get over it ...bike will be back soon ...that's all I have to say ....

Let's make a pure stop and just be focus for now on to somenthing else

Not directed at you. Advise for everyone on the site. Every forum has a thread like this It got so bad on one forum I belonged to the site owner deleted the site and years of great information was lost.

Life is too short .Be happy and enjoy it while you can.I just got another reminder - lost my 34 year old niece to cancer last Wednesday she left behind husband and two beautiful young girls 4 & 6

Ned can you see the hypocrisy ? You ask us all the time to ignore insults, abuse and getting ripped off but you can't be bothered to Ignore site content that you don't like.

Don't like don't click. Easy !

In true Jerry style I'm kinda hoping that paolo6 is Taffys lost son. Or ex lover. That would be a twist.

If that were true we may have to call him "Taffy's Mistake" ?

(just an inside joke for those that have been here awhile)
(no ill will meant toward the young lad paolo)
(I think paolo gets it though)
