Tons of metallic flakes in oil: culprit?

Engine is rebuilt and done. Now to put it back in the frame.

I bought 5L of shell Rotella that I am going to run thru it to wash out any debris and excess sealant that may be present.

Then putting the good stuff in: Amsoil 20W50.

make sure you disassemble and clean out the oil press bypass valve

I am not certain what you mean. Do you mean the ball bearing + spring combo (oil pressure valve I will call it)? Why does this need cleaning? Thanks for the input.

on the earlier cases the oil relief valve was located inside the LHS case in a steel tube

04 up the ball and spring just fall out when you split the cases

the Chamfered hole directly under the oil filter cavity is the ball valve seat so you're good to go .. cleaned allready

FWIW i added about 3.5mm of preload to the spring, this upped the oil pressure to 25-30 psi

Engine is in the bike... and.... drumroll.....

It runs...

And the weep hole is leaking coolant. Luckily I bought x2 seals for there. During the rebuild, I didn't put in a new seal (because it doesn't need a new seal till it leaks). And now it leaks... so it needs a new seal.
