I could feel the lever coming closer to the handlebar, lap after lap, and then suddenly the two remaining fingers get squeezed inbetween. That moment is not funny at all. I mean, you are allready at your very latest braking point, and then having to loosen the brake, get out all four fingers around the lever and brake again, happens at best when your still riding on the black stuff. All braking after that will have to be done with all four fingers on the lever. Then your power is much greater and controling the brakes becomes a whole new game. Plus when downshifting with this slippery clutch-less 115kg, massive engine braking, on the front wheel balancing monster, you NEED to flick the throttle! Try to control the front brakes with all fingers for the "first" time on the lever while you are flicking the throttle for every downshift! I tell you, if my bike had a more colourful paintjob, I would look like one of those ponies kids ride in the mall! When this happens, roadracing is not my favourite hobby.

But now I hope this will go away! And if I can make somebody laugh along the way, even better!

Ordered the pistons today. The previous one were to low, which caused the squish to be 1,5-1,6mm. That is in the middle of the region where you almost can guarantee knocking at max combustion pressure. So the new ones are 0,6mm higher to achieve 1,0-1,1mm squish.

Then I had some therapy with designing those new brackets for the calipers:

Just to convince you guys that I haven't fallen asleep:
The cylinder sleeves will arrive on Monday
The pistons have arrived the San Francisco pit stop to make the further journey to Sweden
The *@~§ race bus is now finished after some 100h work, so more fun things can take place in the workshop.

I'm currently putting my engine together, so maybe your guys want some intel on the parts?

The valves are Ferrea blanks (in 41mm ex 33mm 6mm shafts). The springs are PAC, with a special load reduction, not to give too high seat pressure. The retainers are fabricated from a high tensile steel material. Locks and lower spring washer is OEM. The lifters (32mm) are from Mitsubishi Evo-X. Not much is to be found at the local grocery store...

You mean off to the recycling yard... should get a few bucks for all that aluminum
 
No worries, mate! I have some 4-6 more cylinder heads that are in much better shape!

Needs some grinding between the dish and the pockets. The dish has to be this large to lower the compression ratio down to reasonable 13,5:1. This set of pistons will make the squish appr. 1,0mm, which hopefully will prevent knocking.

I haven't been following your work. Why is comp ratio 13.5:1? Different head set-up, taller piston, longer rod?

That is an older head, I can see where the seat is so close to the
water.
I wounder if the larger valve heads 37mm vs 35mm would have
more material in those areas?

I wanted to thank you again for the videos! gold!! I thought I had seen them all but discovered a couple I had missed - very interesting (and thank you for your patience and answers to some questioms the other day related to EFI which are already in the earliest videos)

one question - as I understood it, the Cannondale engine lives or lived on as a 450 - which make? I couldn't quite make out or recognize it from the video (first or second video I think)
