I am thrilled with the 300. I also have a 570 but was just too much for tight enduros. I have Rekluse Core EXP, Flexx bars, FMF Q Stealth. Have had it for 2-1/2 months and I am getting about 55 miles on a good dual sport with tough trails and 50% back roads riding fairly hard. Not sure in an enduro but I would guess 45 or so. The jetting was really close - only went up 1 on the pilot. The suspension setup is so good even compared to the '12 KTM. They nailed it especially with the CC fork and the HB stock valving. First bike that I do not get arm pump and I will not waste the money on a revalve. All I did was change to a progressive rear spring and it is great. The '12 KTM XC I rode was mushy and soft. They can talk all they want about the new frame, linkage, blah, blah, blah. Ask Fahringer, he smoked them all with a bike that is really close to stock. Oops, I also upped the fork springs to 44s right off the bat but I weigh 195 bare.

thank you Sir....excellent feedback from the saddle

My dealer said they put in the JD Jetting set that James tuned to the 300 and the power is nothing short of amazing and he said, pick a 450 and it cant stay with it, especially when it gets tight.

Think my mind is pretty much set....just have to save a few more pennies and pull the trigger.

Thanx for the feedback!

I am very happy with my 300. I traded a '10 FE390 for it in September. I liked the 390 but it always felt too top heavy to me. I rode a '02 KTM 300exc before that. I am 6', 182lb., +50A riding the tightest single track I can find in LA, TX, MS, and AR (TSCEC and SERA enduro circuits).

Mods include cutting 15mm off bar ends, Cycra probend, move bars up one position from stock and rotate forward 10 deg., FMF Qstealth, drop needle 1 clip, and carbon fiber pipe guard. I had to adjust the float because I noticed that it was dribbling fuel on the trailer. That certainly has to help milage on the trail too. My range is much better than cjberg's. I'm figuring probably closer to 65-70+ miles depending on the course. Went 58 trail miles last weekend and not even close to reserve. I use premium pump gas with Motorex + Startron.

The suspension is still set as delivered from the factory. I know I'm a little heavy for it but it is working so well for me where I like to ride that I don't want to change anything. It's so plush and comfortable at speed. The handling and power are incredible. Much easier than anything I have ridden to keep momentum and drive. I also felt comfortable with everything about the bike from the first ride.

I do wish it came with lights like the FE. I will be adding those soon. Probably the Acerbis DOT headlight and stock rear plate carrier and tail light with Husaberg switches. I have street registration for the bike so I need to get closer to legal.

Hope you don't mind a TE250 guy popping in....

LOVE IT. I've changed the jetting, went to the suzuki needle and can easily get 70+ miles to a tank. The suspension is nothing short of amazing, the brakes are ridiculous. What a nice bike. No idea why i still have the fe390, i like the te250 so much more.

I'm dissapointed with my TE 300 for one reason only, the suspension. I know it has great reviews but for where/how I ride its much to firm. I re-sprung for my weight and tried 72 / 76 / Prog rear but was never happy.

I actually took the forks off my 2010 KTM 300 and put them on the Berg, they are much nicer all around.

The CC forks may be great at expert/pro level high speed but for me an 40+ intermediate I was pissed to find my KTM forks felt way better in the rough stuff.

Dale EO has just done me a re-valve / re-spring so I'm sure I'll be happy again soon!.

I have 25 hours on my 2012 model.
Although I don't like the suspension, the steering / turn-in is excellent, it feels shorter than the KTM.
Approx 110km (70 miles) before hitting reserve.
The plastic bashplate is not protective enough, the PV / WP are left too exposed.
Low-end power is excellent, far better than the KTM
The clear tank is easily discolored, I put 3M clear plastic on mine for protection from the knees.
Those rims are lovely so I bought some rim stickers, again for protection ..........and bling.
I found it difficult to find space on the bars to fit my chosen bark busters, identical to the KTM in that respect.
I replaced the "button" for the e-start with a on / off switch and moved it to the left side of the bars to free up some space for the barkies.
As per the KTM, the standard battery is *****, now using a 9aH (standard 3aH) battery.

I bought my 300 in November. I've been riding a '96 Husky WXC250 for a long time prior to the purchase. I knew it would be far far better and it still exceeded my expectations. I am a 220lb rider and the suspension works great for me. I installed the Husaberg (Cyrca) BBusters, the Husaberg tall seat, heim joint cover, and some fork bleeders. I am performing the wet mod for the starter/flywheel this weekend. There have been many times on the 300, where I would have wiped out on the Husky, but the Berg manages to "pull it together". I tend to bite off more than I can chew sometimes. For me, the map switch is priceless. I love that I can tame the power in the gnarly stuff and then access the full power again, by just flipping the switch.

If I could only plate this wonderful blue beast here in Washington State....

sigh........

so......
I emailed Jeff at Tasky's metric
he was able to finally get the info from the state for everything he needs to be able to do to license dirt bikes here in wa state!

so
I will ping him next week...but with fingers crossed....maybe this old bald phart will have a TE300 with blinkers and a plate in the future...if things can work out.

I will not purchase a bike in Wa state now (except vintage) that does NOT have a plate.

Eco freaks are shutting everything down, places to ride are as rare as cheap gas in wa state.

so....fingers crossed!

Scott

Thanks Johny.

Going to pickup up my new TE300 next week. Having Cycra Probend with solution mount, Rekluse Core EXP and G2 throttle tube installed. Can't wait!

Hello gents and ladies, can another TE250 rider squeeze in here?

Picked up a new TE250 on Friday night- what a bike! I already have a newish KTM 300XC, so the 250 seemed like the way to go, as I've never owned a 250 before and didn't want redundant bikes.

The suspension was the best surprise, it's a little bit undersprung for my weight (100 kg) but I don't mind for now as we're riding a lot of trials/ extreme hillclimb type terrain lately. It's an amazingly plush ride, much better than the boingers on the 300. The trip computer is awesome to have and the bike is gorgeous. We had a group of riders of all ages and backgrounds gathered at a friend's house Friday night, and they all thought it to be the best looking stock dirt bike they'd ever seen- I'd have to agree. The rear fender isn't great for mud conditions, it needs the plastic mudflap that I see on the Euro spec'd bikes.

One question: anyone know which map switch position is which? I think I rode it on position II all weekend, I meant to try and suss out the difference but every time I fired the bike up I got distracted and forgot all about the switch. The bike had a very soft hit so maybe I was riding the mild map. The owner's manual that came with the bike doesn't mention the switch anywhere, and I forgot to ask the dealer about it in my excitement to go ride.

Anyways, I've always loved Bergs but never thought I'd be lucky enough to have one. Now that I do, it's killing me to have to work- I want to ride!

First post.

2011 TE 300. Purchased Dec 2010.

Mods (done when I picked it up).

Springs to suit my weight, Radiator crash bars, carbon pipe protector.

Messed with,

Jetting (needle down one clip from run in setting), green PV spring inserted.

Best bike, road or trail, that I have ever had, due to this.......

3000 klm's, 86.9hrs. 1 set of chain and sprockets, front and rear pads, 1 spark plug, 4 exhaust o-rings.

Eats rear tyres, who cares. Around 8 to 12 hrs from a Dunlop K695. 90 to 120 k's from a tank of go stuff.

Had a pile of sh!t KTM 520 before this. Talk about a $$$$ sucking monster. Hate all 4 bangers. :cuss:

A vid. Poor quality, old POV 1.5. Now have a POV HD.....just trying to sort out the best editor to maintain original HD quality.

Does not show steepness, ruts, rocks or trail jumps. As the "commentary" suggests........ Thought I'd try something new.......
