Taffmeister starter ?s

I seen a Taffmeister starter on EBAY. Wow a little over 100 dollars for a new starter. Is it true? Are they universal? How many in stock?
I cant buy the bike any thing for christmas... kid and wife come first ,but I might have enough cash in Feb for one.
My starter dosent work i broke the magnets when i took it apart and local shop wants over 150 for some thing that might work.
My bike is a 2000 FE600

I am sure that those starters only fit 01 models and newer. The 2000 has the first gen motor which uses a different, larger and heavier starter motor.

even if they are used that is a great price

but i am out of luck they only work with 2001 and newer?
