Has anyone seen these in the UK, and any similar designs that are cheaper?

http://www.shop4motorcycletrailers.com/product/SA001

I've convinced the wife to let me get a van, so looking for a nice & easy wheel in, clamp, wheel out set-up.

Also, does anyone know where to get cheap fully slick tires & race wets for the Supermoto Bergs?

I might have a little go at the Norasport Open next year, just to see how I fair...(probably sh!te, but will be fun trying...)

Thanks

Nice one!! That looks like the fella. When I saw it I fell in love, what a great idea!

Apparently I can bolt them to the van floor & hey presto! Just need a ramp & a tool box.

Thanks for the tire info, good idea. I see that all of the 3 sisters rounds are done for this year, but should be running March/April 2012 if this years calendar is anything to go by.

Cheers!

(now to convince the wife of the wonderful benefits of these clamps for a mere £150.... wish me luck!)

I was just going to post about the motocinch ones, the 1st one i posted is for MX only I think, it says full size MX bikes, so i guess that means 21" front and 19" rear so it might be too tall for the motard

Thanks for the info guys. I've had a quite a few discussions with the different suppliers, so thought I'd share the outcome in case anyone else was considering something similar.

Firstly, as I have peg sliders, this obviously reduces the floor to underside of peg height compared to a peg without a slider, and secondly supermoto foot pegs are lower due to the smaller wheel size, so this effect is two-fold.

After a few measurements of both bike & the 2 main systems discussed in this thread, there is a clear winner in my case.

In second place is the Moto-Cinch. Overall height-wise it is fine & fully adjustable, however, the rectangular sleeve that slides over the peg is obviously of fixed dimensions, and the securing pin cannot go through the peg due to the slider. Also the vertical height of the rectangular sleeve is not enough to clear the peg & slider combined thickness.

So the only real alternative is the MX Lock n Load. The height of the pegs on the motard though are lower than the lower jaw of the lock n load, so..... the solution I think is fairly straight forward is to recess the lock n load securing bracket within the floor ply lining for starters, and then screw down a 2x3" runner centrally along the floor in-between the bracket posts, thereby lifting the foot pegs the extra 1" they need to clear the lower jaws as you push the bike along it.

This is for absolute ease & convenience, however, as a simple swift lift of the bike over the jaws would also suffice...

Cheers buddy, yea got some. I'm looking for quick n easy, no fuss, wheel in, press a button, walk out, & vice-versa sort of set-up. I've got ratchet style straps, bungee straps n all sorts of stuff, but just can't be arsed really fiddling with straps each time I use it. So my thoughts were to spend the time in the preparation as I get set-up in the van, then I'm all set for future ease & convenience

p.s. picked up the van yesterday, its looking mint :bounce:

Ran the bike up the ramp into the back of the van & back out again no problem last night!

Now the cleaning & finishing touches etc (the fun bits).

Thanks

Well, think its all set up & ready. Have taken the Bergmister for a tour of the neighborhood he's never had before.....

Anyway seems to work a treat, wheel in, lock, unlock, wheel out.

Very pleased

The way to get round the height issue was with a couple of planks of wood, sawed with a 30% gradient at the entrance end of each plank, this lifts the foot pegs just enough to clear the lower jaws - ref photo;

Jobs a guddon! :D

OK, now the only missing piece in this jigsaw is a track in the North West to take Berger to.... :?
