My speedo packed up on my 501FE / I won't say who but I was advised that Husaberg speedos were very prone to breaking and that if they!! sold me a new one it would probably break and that for about the same money or less I should get one of these computer thingies endurance / vapour etc. Anyway, Husabergs seem to be set up to accept these with pre drilled front discs and calipers, however, the speedo part seems to leap all over the place in its displayed speed.

Anyone had any similar problems.

just looked at '02 owners manual and i take it that your bike had the non-digital speedo.

from '03 berg went to a digital speedo and i have used the 03 speedo which was the same on boths ktm's and bergs with no problems.
haven't used a trailtech computer but friends that have say good things and they're about the same price, or slightly less depending on model, as an original '03> speedo.

if you just want something to get it rd legal any old bicycle digital speedo will do the trick.

Trailtech are e-mailing me which is good. Suggesting I isolate the sensor from the caliper by wrapping PTFE (plumbers white tape) round the thread. I'll try this on the weekend and post the result.

Tried the tape - that didn't work - got my boy to hold the sensor cable close to the disc whilst I spun the wheel and that did work by my wife wouldn't let me cable tie the lad onto the forks. Put a rubber washer between the sensor & the brake caliper, now works brilliantly. Just another tip on the same forum - sensor is very fragile and will sheer if over tightened - I know cause I did it last month...
