I was comparing oils and I came across this oil (shell rotella-t 15w40) or the full synthetic (rotella-t6 5w40). does anyone run this oil in there burgs. i read that alot of people run this oil in harley's and honda's. It's available at canadiantire for a good price.

Lot's of folks successfully run these oils in their KTM's. In fact, Rekluse strongly recommends these oils for use with their auto clutches. Note that both the 15/40 and 5/40 Rotella oils are officially stamped as being approved for use in motorcycles.

they don't make the 15w40 in synthetic but I noticed that delo400 is'nt synthetic. I think I will try the rotella-t 15w40.

I have run both Rotella and Mobil One synthetic. Just make sure you get the blend that doesn't have this:

5-40 Blue jug .We run it in my sons 450FX flogged mercilessly. Been running it in everything I own that use's motor oil including two stroke transmissions for several years with excellent results. All three hole's on my FLHTCU for 50000mi w zero issues. I like the convenience of one jug fits all.

Take this for what it's worth which isn't much. I run Rotella synthetic and Dello both. Plenty of people have done oil analysis on both with there bikes. However, the strange thing is in my 990 Adv I had problems with the Rotella. After about 300-400 miles I would get oil pressure problems. Oil pressure would bounce around 7 or 8 psi when I was going down the road but never at idle. I check connections on my oil pressure sensor and such but never found the problem. I then found a Panolin wharehouse closing and bought a bunch for $3.80 a litre and switch. Never had the oil pressure problem again but can't say it was the oil. I do still run it in my truck.

I heard that Team KTM used this oil even when they were being sponsored by another oil company , so it must be good stuff! I wonder if the T vs. T6 makes a difference in protection, or usability? I have been having issue with flame outs coming out of corners, bike just stalls out about throwing me over the bars.. I have been told simply switching to this oil has solved the problems in the 09 and up husabergs, with regards to (flame outs/stalls) letting the clutch plates come together better, best I can explain. Just repeating what I was told by a guy over at http://www.theraceshop.com/. He said their bikes did the same thing, and tired several different solutions, this ended up being the solution. Along with using gas with less Ethanol. I have been using full synthetic Amsoil 10/40 that is about $13 a quart, yikes. This sure would be a nice savings at $13 a gallon!! Even better if it works out the kinks in the bike!!

I PUT IN THE TRIPLE PROTECTION ROTELLA-T 15W40. IT WAS 20$CAD FOR 5 LITRES. :bounce3: i HAVE'NT REALLY RIDEN THE BIKE YET BUT IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING WELL.

Anyone know where I can get Rotella in the UK? Called Shell who gave me 2 distributors but they don't have it! I've read somewhere that the UK equivelent is Rimula R3x? but this doesn't have the JASO rating for wet clutches although I've read/heard of people using it in bikes without problems. I can get Rimula for £4 per litre whereas I'm paying £10+ a litre for 'motorcycle' oil. If I can't get Rotella I think I'll try the Rimula and if it causes clutch probs I'll just go back to mc oil.
