It was a risk that fully paid off :) I live in NZ and saw the best example I've ever seen of a 570fe berg in TASMANIA (australia). It's another country and across 1500nm of water, but I went for it! The price was very right at just over 7000AUD and included a new safari tank, force rad guards and belly pan, heated grips, a custom Seat Concepts seat, tail tidy, barkbusters, a few engine mods, new tyres, balanced wheels, Scott steering stabiliser, barretts slip on exhaust, tool kit, all original parts, 12v plug, keyed ignition, custom graphics, etc. I managed to get some relatively inexpensive flights over the high season and flew to Tasmania. Pick up was a breeze and the bike was perfect with only 2000kms, 35hrs. Deal done, and then I hooked up with the ADV riders there who had a 3day ride to the best off-road there in NE Tassie. Did some additional off-road and touring, and then ferried to Melbourne. Bike is now making its way on a container to me in NZ :) Can't wait to introduce her to her new home!

Very nicely set up! Did the 2012 570's come with blue wheels? I have a 2011 and the wheels are silver. (I live in the USA)

Gorgeous bike but how about some photos of Tasmania? Show the world what they're missing!

p.s. I also spy Stegz pegz.

Oh my goodness that bike is a real looker, more pics PLEASE! Do the shrouds on the tank have perforations in them? Well done

more pics and info

Sorry all, just saw these appreciations of what is really a top Berg!

So the only thing I'm dealing with is a small oil leak (i think from the rubber grommet where the stator wires go into the stator casing). Bike just arrived in NZ from Australia, and as soon as I get my hands on her I'll try to pull the case and use high-temp sealant to seal up the leak. New gasket on order just in case. Anyone know where in the world I can get a complete gasket set for spares? Athena do sets but haven't seen a complete one. Thanks all!

+1 on STEGZ PEGZ, and the less ppl that know about Tassie, the more open and uncrowded riding we get...going back soon I hope!

shrouds?

If u mean the stickers, they are preforated YES. Otherwise the only 'shrouds' are the radiator guards etc.

It's a small community in Tassie, I met the mates of the first owner and the guy who put on the stickers etc. Great bunch of guys and riders

Dude!
Nice stickers for the Safari!
Would you maybe have the design for them? Or maybe you know who made them, and I could order a set for my tank?

Why do I only get a photobucket error code pic?

Anyway, your alternator cover is leaking around the wiring grommet because they are either not flat from the factory or for some reason that cover will warp a little. See the 70° thread on advrider for a couple inmates that posted info and pics, including me, baggi'tard. Take the cover off and sand it flat. I used fine 320 or 400 grit wet/dry and my granite counter top. Took several pics of the before/after, the cover wobbled on flat surface when I started. New gasket, a little bit of sealant around the grommet, and it's been good to go. Throwing in a bunch of sealant on a non-flat cover won't work for too long..

Yeah USA silver because the blue ones were not DOT certified.:banghead:

Have you also notice that all the USA bikes get the same incandescent arrow shaped turn signal on every enduro/dual sport bike? The cost is actually huge to consumer because all the new bikes get held in one place; somewhere in New York for KTM, and then they get their LED signals and such removed and the 20th century ones put on. Very efficient.
