restarter upgrade '02 650

Well guys after the Oz force ride where every one else had the magic button except me i decided to bite the bullet and have a go at this conversion.
So i have bought an R6 starter motor and have put it all in place and marked where to drill. I also bought a new battery as the old one was stuffed and have decided to run new cabling from the battery to the solenoid and then to the starter.
Unfortunately i am pretty busy at work at the moment and am away for the next two weekends but will try and get it all done in the next few weeks and let everyone know how it goes.
Although i am now thinking i might also get sparks to rewind the stator to help it out a bit more as well.
But as i said i will let everyone know how it goes in the next few weeks.
Regards Pids

well simply cos i was bored, wanted to fiddle (the wife wasn't around) and the local bike shop had one goin for $20 i went and bought a yammy r6 starter like neds. Not that my bike has any starting probs since i re-fitted the HT lead to the plug-cap.

must be the quickest mod i've ever done on a bike. only problem was cos i haven't got any rod to make proper spacers at the moment i used the nut and washer you can see below.
i found that even half a mil too low and it was enough to bind the motor enough so that it wouldnt turn over.
the fitting required no modification to the husaberg itself and the old motor will just fit straight back in.

may cut off the excess arm lenght but probably wont bother.
and no i didnt realise the bolts looked that rusty on my bike. Must be the flash.

well my bike was pretty good starting anyway. usually 3rd or 4th kick from cold and then it'd fire on the starter in about 1-1.5 cranks

in the shed tests ive done from cold it now starts instantly on the button

have yet to get it warmed up and in the middle of a muddy forest to try it but suspect its goin to be fine.

starters who needs them? I do thats who!

i read on here that someone had used a k6 suzuki starter (gsxr 1000 model) after reading that i bought one. now after reading this i am very confused as to whether or not it will be fast enough to rack her up? also my machine does not seem to have any wiring what so ever in regards to the battery or starter, it does have the starter botton on the bars.
have i been a victim of previous owners bodge job wiring removal, can i rig up a total loss sistem to my baby, will my shin bone fracture ever heal enough to let me kick the beast again all these things make for long tiring sleepless nights, please help me i,m desperate, really desperate!!!
