Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am happy to announce that some partners and I are currently in the process of pre production testing of a complete subframe fuel tank that will hold apporximately 1 gallon of fuel.

This tank will be a complete unit, that is made to be a gas tank and will be a direct bolt on unit to replace your stock sub frame. All hardware will be included to connect your new subframe tank to the stock main tank. The tank will retail for between $350-400.

I am hopeful that within a couple of weeks, the final details will be ironed out and we will be able to start taking pre orders.

I will post here as soon as I know the details.

We are still deciding the name of the company, but it is likely to be called 70*(degree) Racing.

this would be great for us that ride long distances
PLEASE make mine so it lowers the seat height 1''
OK I under stand no special orders!! but it would great for us that are short / short
just a though

Dale,

This is a fantastic thing that you are doing for us! I will definitely order one (if you will ship to the UAE). One small question. I heard that an Australian company might come on line with a larger fuel tank (up front). Will your subframe tank be compatible with this one? That is to say, if we fit your subframe tank, will we able to add on the front tank too without further modifications.

Keep well!

Haskell,
I was at Malcolm Smith's dealership last week and he mentioned that a company out in California was selling an off center bushing kit for the swingarm that would lower the bike one inch. I think he said it was the company that does Cynergy Seals. I will email him and find out the company name and contact and post it.

Thanks a lot for all of the positive feed back guys!

I wish I could give you more details, but, as I said we are testing right now to make sure it will be a sano unit that won't require any fiddling on your part once you get it. We really want the product to require as little assembly as possible.

We are also looking at installing a quick fill ring on the sub tank as an available option for fast pit stops since the seat comes off so quickly. As well as a standard tank that would just have a cap like the last generations factory sub tank. Looking at using the largest possible transfer line for the fastest possible gravity feed for the standard set up. Again, it's all in testing at this time.

Also, we are looking at have a quick disconnect like the stock tank to throttle body set up, that when disconnected will seal both sides when separated for a no fuss no muss separation of the tanks for maintenance or quick access to the bike during racing conditions.

I will post more as soon as the details are available as I know you all are excited about this tank as well as I am!!

Awesome, I have considered building a few things dealing with fuel and bikes and always wondered what kind of trouble you may get from the Feds over their air quality crap. I'm considering building an affordable quick fill can as the ones out now are way too expensive for weekend racers.

Howdy Dale,

One other item to think about .....

We *know* that people are just frothing to get these things - but we are also talking about a unit that carries "FLAMMABLE GASOLINE" right next to ugly bags of water.

Have you thought about making 10 prototype units - and letting some "known crazies" test the crap out of them for a month or two? You know what I mean: a couple of the guys that ride nothing but rocks (and their bikes look like it), some desert loonies who live for doing bad-a** whooops at 70 miles an hour and pound the living crap out of their bikes; a deep, technical woods rider who almost never see 20 mph and spends most of the ride bashing over logs and ... then lifting the bike over the logs that they can't bash over...?

You might get some very valuable feedback/testing done before sending tanks to 2/3 of the new Husaberg owners in the world.... ya' know what I mean, Vern? :^)

Cheers! E-Ticket

Dood.... this is ....so... fracking cool. It's almost likek you guys have been listening to our needs. :^)

One other item to think of - and that is an ability to have a petcock (in the tank or in the connect line ?) so that you have the option to use the sub-gas-tank or not. As in, when I know that I am going out for a 40-60 mile ride - there is no need for the extra gallon of gas - and would like the ability to "turn it off" and only fill/use the main gas tank for that ride.

I know ..."massive" feature creep is already showing up... :D
But you can't design it - if you don't know about it!

What is your time frame on a production version of the sub-frame tank? I am in the process of converting my sub-frame, but this would really be the right way to go. If it is within a few months, I may just wait for yours to be available rather than convert the stock sub-frame.
