Probably....funds permmitting.
And no Froggy....I will probably hold on to the 496 awhile.

Ok, I will let you ride it 2 more years. :D

Maybe you will want the 496 from my shop, then you two can have twin bikes.

The motor parts are the same as in the -08 KTM 450 so they will have been tested for a year when the -09 Husabergh is released. KTM is the testbed for Husaberrg, kind of.
No. Unless they make a 350 cc based on KTM 250cc 4T parts and almost 10 Kg lighter I will not order one. If they do I might.

I'll have one in either '09 or '10, God willing and the creek don't rise. I'll take the opportunity and downsize to the 450. No more big bores for me. Too hard to hang onto late in a race now that I am fat, old, slow, and out of shape.

"The bling factor"!! That perfectly my style. Oh by the way, I'll be on the new bike, so everyone else might as well too. Because as soon as anyone sees me on one, you'll be getting one anyway!! Jump on board people, you have a year to save $$. After all, we all love Honda's and old outdated Bergs right!! Just kidding, although I am on the list for the new bikes.

I have had first generation bikes in the past and think I will wait a year this time, Too many steps at one time on this one

GUY'S please help keep us afloat!

What did you think you wanted in the first place anyway?

This bike will be our first killer anyway!!

Boss out.

Race-bike

Husabergs image is a "ready to race bike". A racebike is light and fast and buildt to win races. Now we look at a bike that's probably the fastest endurobike in the world, and instead of beeng happy you guys sound like you wanted a blue and yellow XR650?!

If my information is true the WEC-boys are quite a lot faster on the 09 preproduction than om their current factorybikes, that is enough for me, I want one because I belive it will help me get better results in my racing. And with a racebike thats the most important thing.

As of reliability it won't be a problem, the bike has been tested in 3-4 years already, many engineparts are beeng tested in the 08 KTM, and I'm sure Jocke, Bjorne and Valtteri are going to ride it harder than ANY of us eaver could in this years WEC-series.
All this before the bike goes in production will make it good from the start. You have to see that KTM's testing-budget is a LOT bigger than Husabergs was earlyer when new bikes was released.
I'm first in line for a new one, and you better bee too, or all you'ii see is my plastic-subframe disapearing in front of you!

RE: Race-bike

Don´t think they got their bikes yet.
The WEC boys will get their bikes shortly, but they might be faster in bench racing all ready with the new bikes.
Yep, this bike will feel lighter than the previous ones for sure.

I don't think they have their new bikes yet, but they have tested a preproduction 09 and was faster on it.....

Yep....

I want the a 550 or 570

efi will be nice... real good for the big altitude changes in the high country. :D

I would be keen to get an '09, I've put the concept to the wifey, which was not recieved with tremendous enthusiasm, but '09 is still a little way off.

I have a mate who does air con installs. He manages to hide a bit from everyone. That's the only way to go!!!

Just checked the husaberg.se site and it looks like the 09 has one of those 1/4 turn ktm fillers on it. If it has I'll pass on this bike just because of that !!!

Errr ...

Do you really - I mean _really_ - have to ask your wife about your next bike/gear ...

:?

Cheers, Goran

yes please

i will get a 450 asap. i will go 450 as it will be less strain on th estarter and I am concerned since I have only used electric start as emergency restart. 450 looks safe and I want to win this year and i think the bike will handle well.

I understand low and centre but not centre of gravity. why raising the motor is a benefit is a mystery to me. still i will have one asap.

ktm has done a recall on the filler caps that came off easily when crashing. so doubt it will be a problem

RE: Re: Start saving Azza...

I'm going for one, it looks way to good to pass up and I'm more than ready for a new bike. Are there any figures out for the prices yet?

Cypher, where do you think all of the old stock defective caps are going :D . They have to use them somewhere.

These comments blow me away. Sometimes I wonder why folks buy a Husaberg. Personally, I buy because it makes riding fun as possible, and the Hbg gives me an advantage over the next guy, and as I age that becomes even more important. The perceived worries are non-sense. Maybe it is my racer mentality. Gas cap, I don't care, I have two rolls of duct tape in the truck, I can tape it on. Battery/restart, I think I can hook it up to the battery tender between rides. Durability of design, I suspect that most all the internals come off the shelf from existing models. The only upside to all of your worries is that I shouldn't have to pay $500 over MSRP to get one. My only concern is that I am not that keen on PDS performance, but the 2008 KTMs that I have ridden seem to work OK and I really like the no linkage bearings, so hey, I'm in! Personally, I thought this thread would end up as 10 pages of "I'm in".
