Busy doing a oil change and i couldn`t remember which way round the oil screen goes. Looked in my service manual and the picture and text don`t make it clear, so i thought Husaberg site. A quick search and i found the answer. Job sorted in a couple of minutes. Thank god for the internet and this web site :D :D :D :D :D

No Bob, the hole in one end is bigger than in the other end and the big end is inserted into the receptacle in the engine case. The small hole end goes into the threaded cap.:)

That`s what I thought. Did a search on UHE and I was right. I guess it would work ok the other way around.

muckybill,

Yes you can put it in the other way if you like but why restrict flow if you don't have to??? I have the drain plug with a magnetic shaft on the inside and it wont fit into the smaller end so i have my screen big side out.... smaller opening is towards the inside of the motor. I suppose I could just drill out the inside of the smaller end if I wanted, but never really thought of it before typing this.... Mmmm, maybe next oil change.

Just wanted to post an update. Yesterday I did my oil change in preparation for next mondays ride which included an oil change. I removed the filter/screen and cleaned it up as I regularly do and then fitted drill bits into the hole of the larger end and found that a 5/16" bit was a slim fit. I then drilled out the smaller end of the screen/filter about 1/4 inch and deburred with a larger bit to remove any plastic shavings. cleaned it up and shazam, it fit right up into the oil plug and cleared the magnet inside perfectly. I now have the original large end opening facing into the engine like it is supposed to be and didn't have to get rid of the magnetic oil plug. Just wanted to share with others incase anyone ever runs into this.

Regards,
