hi
ive just bought a 08 fe450 with 26 hours on it

ive been doing a bit of reserch on the forum and in "owners docs" etc...

would be correct in thinking that the 08s are fairly trouble free? as most of the problems seem to be with 04-05 bikes and older? i havent seen much written about problems with 08s, unless i missed something...

is there anything i should check or watch out for?

thanks to all

My 08 ROCKS however I did boil it doing some single track so I bought a fan kit for it from BOSS. I also have the DVSK but have not installed it yet. Check your front fender clearance and make sure it is not rubbing the frame. Well I guess if it has 26hours on it there is not much to be done anyhow. I really have not had any problems with mine and if you do not do much slow technical riding the fan is not necessary. Good luck and enjoy!

Welcome to the gang! I also have an 08 fe 450 with 63 hours on the clock. No real troubles at all, runs awesome and starts well after I reset the valves when I got it at 30 hours in Jan. This is a super forum for Berg info :)

Hey,

I have an 08550fe, which I bought in late 07, and unfortunately I have clocked up very little km's due to knee recon and being out of the country for sometime, but it has been absolutely rock solid reliable. I can even let it sit for 2-3 months, and still starts first pop of the electric start with no battery maintainer.
I have 50 hrs on it, valves havent moved since first adjustment at 5hrs. Handles better than my well set 05KTM525 did with heaps of suspension work and aftermarket triple clamps, and from riding over Nth Qld, and now Darwin, there are very few around.....badluck to them.
Cant justify a new model when these things are so good anyways.... :bounce3: :bounce3:
