New in the stable : FS570

I really feel like burning this bike. It just does not want to start with the button.

I've had the starter rebuilt with new bushes, valves checked and set and also checked the that the auto decomp was in the right way round.

I think im going to hook it up to a nuclear power station to see if it starts.

New vid coming up.

I had a hot start issue caused by a leaky injector on my 450, but it didn't sound anything like that. That sounds more like a decomp issue. Was there not an issue with some of the cams where even though they were installed correctly they needed to be replaced? I thought I came across a thread about that somewhere.

Have you tried letting it sit just a liii-ittle bit - 3-4-5 seconds - between each push of the button? Something seems to "let go", maybe cylinder pressure - and the starter will turn more freely.

The KTM dealership told me everything is fine. Clearly everything is not fine.

To me it also sounds like too much compression and that the auto decomp is not doing its job.

I think I need to look for a kickstarter mod. :bounce:

It started this morning, on about the 5th press of the button. Ran smooth, sounded great. I did not try and start it again tho.

Any luck so far / news?

FWIW mine now starts A LOT easier with a clean air filter ... just throwing it out there / grasping at straws. But hey sometimes it's nice to have some straw ..?

3 Things come to mind.
Starter sprague/torque limiter. Obviously slipping
Auto decompression issue. Did that take out the torque limiter and battery? It seems to me there were a few 570's with bad cams causing decompressor issues.
Battery. No one seems to know how to accurately check a battery anymore.

I would see if this guy would ship to you, assuming the parts are interchangeable.

I went through the same hard starting problem with my new 2011 FE570. The dealer originally said the battery was bad, and I put in a new Shorai Lithium, but that didn't solve the problem. Then the dealer put on a new starter, and that didn't fix it. Then they checked the cam, and it seemed fine, but the bike was still very slow to turn over at times. Finally Husaberg authorized a cam replacement, and the problem was solved. This took three or four different trips to the dealer for about a week each time. It was very frustrating, but I knew something just wasn't right. After all this the bike has been 100% perfect, and problem free for the last two years since the cam replacement.
