New Husaberg-mobile (GRAPHICS INTENSIVE)

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

Risky, you are right, I just used a Mercedes because it was the only blue picture I could find. I got a Dodge.

Robbie: Used Shalimar oil, and I'll cruise in fragrant happiness.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

We have a guy local to me who has one for hauling his bikes. He loves it.... just dont crash it

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

I have been toying with the idea of replacing my 17mpg (15 to 20 mpg) crewcab diesel with one of those 28mpg sprinters. Most owners (that I have talked to) are extremely happy with them. Merecedes is really squeezing a lot of performance out of that 2.7L diesel, it needs good fuel. It does not like biodiesel! My wifes last car was an MB 2.9L turbo diesel, it was still getting 26 to 30 mpg and running great when we sold it with 220,000 miles on it.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

Congratulations Brett,
The Sprinter is indeed very cool.

Personally, I am an old school wasteful American and partial to Super Haulers. :)

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

I have to see if I can fit a trailer hitch on my Toyota Echo.

It gets 34/38 MPG :D

Brett,

I thought you would choose something like:

Seriously, those sprinters are everywhere here. Along with the infamous Ford Transit (this one is cooler than most, notice they didn't even remove the headlight cleaners on the racing version:)

Both are workhorses of Europe along with what I consider the minivan of Europe, the Berlingo:

They make up a few of my favorites since being here!

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

watch out for the gear linkage. ours in wrk is on its 3rd or 4th, but it gets used heavily but i also know a couple bikers who have had to have them replaced.
not sure but believe it was down to play developing within the kinkage because the gear lever ie mounted on the dash.

despite that i'm still saving for a vito.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

I love photochop.

That's actually not bad photoshopping the Husaberg logo on the Sprinter.

You must have spent a little bit of your time.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

Hope Brett and Jedi are taking notes Kelsow.
If your Berg-hauler was for real, I think people would be pulling over Brett on the side of the highway just to find out what's inside! 8O (other than the typical cars that usually pull Brett over for speeding)

That's one juicy look'in Sprinter.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

The company I work for has 5 Sprinters and I drive one about 300 miles a day and love the thing!
It's one of the best highway gigs I've ever driven. It tracks perfectly straight and accelerates nicely, but has a speed control that stops at 85.I would feel safe in the damn thing doing 100. Plus has the most comfortable seat with tons of adjustments, it's almost like the seat in a semi.

The main problems I've run into are:
It has the worst stereo and speakers I've ever heard in my life! The heater control in one is very hard to turn and feels like it might break but hasn't yet.
Being it has such a huge flat windshield all of ours are cracked, so don't get it replaced when it does because it will break again. One of the ones I was driving got stuck in first gear when I came off the freeway and wouldn't come out but I've never had it happen again.

Don't let any of these things scare you off because they are great!

P.S. If you get the Freightliner or Dodge Sprinter you can get a Mercedes grille to make it look like it should. I think I've seen them on Ebay.

IM me if you have any questions.

Re: New Husaberg-mobile

Looks great Brett! As a memeber of B.U.C.C.( that is Big.Ugly.Canopy.Club) I have been eyeing the sprinter as well. It is very nice to be able to stand upright in the back, no hauling a trailer around, and your bike and gear is nice and dry! Good luck with it, I hope to see it in person some day. Trick it out like the photo that Kelsow submitted, that thing rocks!

Tuna, thanks for the heads up, I bought the full MB kit last night. And a set of G-Wagon 18"wheels to round out the package. Chrome or gloss black, I'm not sure yet :)

Cheers,

Brett
