My 570 smells good

I just took my 570 out of a shed - she's been taking a nap. Tbh, I a case of the blues so the bike sat :) Blues was fixed by obtaining good, quality family life - which unfortunately took up all spare time! But now time and energy are here, and spring on top of that, so I took the 'Berg out!

And the Husaberg 570 smells good! Much better than the DR-Z! A sweet, complex smell. Seems like high-performance fuel-injected dirtbikes have a certain fragrance – A cocktail of polish, combustion derivatives, and expensive synthetic lubrication. Seems like the fuel-injected ones smell better because the system is more sealed so it's not as rank a gasoline smell.

Not that I don't love the grotty 20th century musk of an old carbed dirtbike.

- Might also be that I've had so much fun on it that the Pavlovian response kicks in and makes me salivate when I smell the 'Berg.

Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about!

Well. I guess that's it for today's awkwardly sensual post!

when new especially at the dealer the brake fluid always overwhelms all the other aromas.

Oh yes I can relate...it's the smell of oil on your hands...well everywhere! After installing a new Rekluse clutch with it's sexy laser etched clutch cover. Then riding it around your neighborhood reving to 5k then stopping 10x in 1st then 2nd to break the clutch in and not stalling. It's the smell of grass as your knobbies tear up the dirt. OOOOOOHHHH yeah

yes I'm a little excited about my new clutch :spin: and spring

My 570 stinks of burnt electronics after I managed to short my startbutton loop. Simplified the loom and managed to solder the two cables to the looped cable instead of the starter button... Thats the way it goes when you are tired, drunk and hungry. The starter relay was swollen and hot and it was fog in my garage.
Stinks.

But yes, normally it smells of expensive fluids :) I know what you mean.

Here's my take on it today about the Husaberg smell. It's the old school bike. It's the FS650. I can't smell it. I can only see it and feel it. It sits low on the FS suspension and wheels unlike the Enduro. It's a looker in every way . People see it and have no idea what it is. Those who do know don't know it all. Only if you ride it can you ever know. It's the Torque Monster with the never ending pull. And Man does it look good!!

First startup smells of cooking fresh silicone and deep fried delo400. And Wafting glycol coffee

Powerful sense of achievement associated with those three

Great I am trying to resist buying a 2004 SM650 close to me, so thanks for that.

I'm assuming the 04 FS model had the shorter suspension. I have noticed the caliper holder was still the same as the Enduro that year. The 05 had the different style holder and I know shorter. Maybe someone will verify.
