back in cottonwood, az
my wife and i were talking about the 1991 movie thelma and louise today as we were rounding a turn by a cliff and she said she read that the flying leap over the cliff at the end of the movie was filmed at our dead horse state park in cottonwood az. i said "i didn't know that and i can't think of anywhere around the park that there was a cliff high enough". well just a bit ago i looked it up and thru the wonders of the internet, i find that "thelma and louise point" is at dead horse point state park, located near moab and canyonlands nat'l monument off rt 313 above the shafer trail. i thought "hey, i've been there" and looked at some pictures some guy took at t&l point. lo and behold, i've got the same picture from the stoveguy dualsport ride. it was the second photostop we made on that ride.
was this some bit of film history that ron told everybody but me?
