As a MAXXIS dealer and user, I can tell you that the Desert ITs hold up very, very well and have great traction in most conditions.

True, they have a very heavy beed and sidewall and are hard to put on with tire irons, but our demo FE650 does dual-sport rides, desert riding and tight trails and it has just over 600 miles on it and we just turned the tire to use the other side of the knobs. At around 500 miles, it still looked barely used.

I also sell alot of Dunlops and frankly am not impressed with the 952...the M5Bs are nice and hook up well but are directional so its not the best choice if you like getting the most from your tire.

for races, I like the 756 (even though they only last 1-2 races). For a long lasting tire, you cant beat the Desert IT.

Of course, thats just my opinion.
