Left side case Guard?

I have an '05 FE550 and was out trail riding today on some pretty gnarly rocks - the shift lever got bent into the left case and easily scored the magnesium alloy case cover. I'm wondering if anybody makes a case guard for these? (when I got home I ground the sharp edge off of the shifter...)

I've seen ones made for the DRZ that are essentially a thin piece of metal you put on with silicone adhesive onto the original to give a bit more strength. http://www.happy-trail.com/DRZ-KLX/CFC- ... uards.aspx

Thanks
Rob

Found a CNC machined cover at "Off Road Boss" courtesy of Rick Bozarth. Great to deal with.

This is a replacement cover ... not a "guard" .... right?

How much did it cost?

Hi - it is a replacement cover - more durable than the factory, which I put a pretty good gouge into in my first trail ride.

Go to http://www.offroadboss.com/Berg_accessories.htm and browse the products. At about $150 It isn't cheap, but I do like the protection it offers.

Regards,
Rob
