Large capacity fuel tank available in a few weeks

I will give all the stats on the tank when I pick it up on thursday!!!
As you might have noticed this has been quite a goose chase so
I would like to hold one in my hand's before I say too much more.

Just a couple more days :D

Now that we are finally getting a big tank we will need to pester Moto Sport Panniers for one of their Dirt-Bagz that would fit a Berg.

I bought an XR400, and will dual sport it, add a large tank and dirtbagz, etc. for riding the TransAmerica Trail this summer. It's probably the better choice than the 'berg for this trip (pack mule vs Thoroubred,) but I might just reconsider if the new tank can get me about 150 miles with easy riding. DirtBagz setup would be the bees kness, but I could fab up something that will work with some suitable soft bags.

Blake:

I plan on installing the large tank plus the optional underseat tank. This should give pretty decent distance between refuelings for those long desert rides.

Carrying some extra engine oil would be my only major concern for long trips.

Hello,

The 450 is on the list - the current bracket set is not the same fit - the forward mounting point for our brackets will not work on the 450 as is - I am not sure what is involved to modify them to fit.
Keep an eye on the website for any updates for the 450.
Sincerely

I spent some time during the Indianapolis Powersports show talking with the guys that made the new tank. Top notch folks. They really did their homework on this one, and had some great stuff to say about BOSS.

Kudos to Boss, and everyone else that made the big tank a reality.

That makes sense. However, sourcing the underseat tank is a challenge. I watch eBay, but haven't seen any come up recently.

I just hope that BOSS will take payments on the new tank. I would have a hard time hiding that from my wife after the list of stuff I'm getting for MOAB. She has been good so far, but pushing the envlope might just blow up..

Where I come from, it's much easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

Big tank has an effect already

I just got off the phone with the infamous John. Now John was the guy that turned me on to Husabergs in the first place having ridden them since the mid 90's. He went back to the dark side in 2001 and has been on K*M's since. Last weekend as we were tearing up the Dez he was feeling kinda lame on his little 525. See it just could not pull the 550 anywhere. The only reasdon he left the Bergs was due to fuel limitations. See John REALLY likes to go for a long ride. I have seen him carry 3 gals on his back and the big tank on the KTM full. Armed with the inside scoop I told him on good athority that the tank will be here within the month and guess what????????????

He went down to NMS and got a 650!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I guess he dont wanna get pulled any more
Thanks alot Boss............. Now I gotta work to get around John again

RE: Big tank has an effect already

Outstanding!!! Will John "the tire changing maniac" be blessing our presence at Moab now??

Probably too broke to pay attention
Illl try and talk him into it He dont like Utah but.............. well see

Hell guys, I'm still asking for forgiveness for the 450. The bike was OK but well the dual sport kit, bash plate, and grip heaters were not on her radar until she foung the bill. Like was said, OH-WELL. Then Moab, 4 kids and a wife in school. Mabye Rick will take pity on me and just GIVE me one!!!! On second thought, that would most likely cost me much more then paying the wifey back...

$hit, I haven't seen a paycheck in 12 years, as long as there is at least SOME money for me to spend I will let the wife deal with the rest of the other crap and be happy...

BOSS, plaese post details of the new tank as soon as you can, I reallly need to know how many litres it will hold as it is the key decision point for me between me buying a FE650 or a 525EXC for using in this years Australian Safari rallye race !!
