Real MX has a few photos of the new KTM Motocross lineup.

Did they reduce the displacement of their MX3 bike down to 505cc because of the new European rules?

More important question: will the Berg family be fitted with new engines in 2007 or will they do like in 2000/2001: new body, then new engine?

Hopefully development is still being done in Sweden and something original will come Husaberg's way instead of just plopping a new KTM motor in a Berg.

Frog, did you notice the 505 has no kick start? I like the way they made it near imposable to put a three digit number on your bike(sarcasm), I guess the racers with three digit numbers can go down to Ace hardware and get those little mailbox numbers, you know the gold squares with black numbers, COOL!

Man, I really need to get on the ball! I saw the '06 KatooM's yesterday at the dealer for the first time.

They were just as ugly :bounce3:

thanks,

Sorry, can't help myself ,but GD thats a pretty bike. While I was looking at it the wife walked by and said-looks like your old bike.I said-no,it's the 07 KTM 450-pretty eh?-to which she replied-"it's just a machine" I honestly don't know where I picked her up....

Frog,
The 505 actually displaces 477cc. 477cc is the limit, I believe, for the MX3 bikes.

Thanks, that's what I kind of thought. The 525 was actually a 520.

I am not sure of the MX3 limit...

unless they are changing for 2007 which i don't believe they are the capacity limits for mx3 are as follows.

2st - 290cc upto 500cc
4st 475cc upto 650 cc

got those off the fim website.

Wheelie guy, you can say anything you want as long as you include something that can only be decided by personal opinion. Who decides what is mainstream?

Obviously, they feel that they're the only "mainstream" 450 with electric start.

thanks,

has anyone else notice that the new engines look very similar to what youd get if you lopped one cylinder off of their v twin motor.

bit of cross fertilization me thinks?

first mainstream 450 4 stroke mxer with electric start?

Husky TC MXer line was E start only in 04 and 05 they dropped it as e start option, K start standard though in 06

Cannondale came up with an e-start MXer, with the success that we, unfortunately, know.
