Hi does any body now if these ktm triples would fit "ktm-husaberg adjustable triple clamp kit 18-20 trail" a 2004 550 fe and is there any advantage in fitting them im trying to solve a cornering issue she tends too push a bit in sandy loose corners .........colin

Hey Colin,
Saw something very similar on ebay..might be what you're looking at...anyways from my exp, I'd say first try lowering the forks in the trees...but no more that about 1.5mm at a time.

I ran my 04' 550 down just one full adjustment mark on the forks and I hated it...it changed the feel and cornering dramatically. I'd suggest try this before parting with any hard earned first.....the changed is serious and if anyone had told me this I would have said it was BS ....but trust me you'll feel the different way the bike will tip into loose or sandy corners...

Make sure you have your static and riders sag set up correctly as well, it all adds to the way the berg will ride

Iv'e put my m8's gold ktm triple clamps on my 09 fe 450, and i can tell you that 1.5mm makes a hell of a difference now it really turns, so god only knows what the 22mm triple clamps are like, they must be amazing

by going to 18s from 22s I have placed more weight on the front and get more grip. really hard to say whether all the parameters are there but I was looking for grip and got it. I have the rear jacked right up but I don't get much transfer under throttle opening to the rear. so i may well raise the forks and take some pre-load off the rear.

what a game!

regards

Taffy
