If you could ask Husaberg (Austria) one question....

BMG will be visiting the factory in Austria next week.
If you could ask Husaberg one question, what would it be ?
Personally, my hot-button issue is about the availability of a 250cc four stroke bike.

What other issues do you think might bear discussion ?

Thanks,

Brett Saunders

What will the next major change be? What's going to make me say "wow". I don't think BNG, plastics or even a 250cc machine are gonna do it for me. Time to add something alittle "cutting edge", although I would settle for enhanced performance and durability
I'm still waiting for Berg to be a test platform for KTM again instead of the other way around.
From inovator to imitator in just a few short years.

Können Sie den 2001 Fe501e anfang mit dem electrische Starter machen?

Bitte?

There is a modification you can make to the decompressor weights where you add a daub of weld to stop the weights travelling over centre. it forces them stay further out at cranking speed thus helping the decompression mechanism to work more effectively and allowing the starter to crank at an effective starting speed.

not a single question; rather a series of requests.
1. change the chassis spine to a narrower fabricated version, rather than the extruded RHS, to allow a narrower tank.
2. reinstall a removable sub-frame
3. make a 3/4 sized (125 sized) 450 for gents of deminished stature.

ltd edition run of the 400 again for entrance level whilst waiting for the 250. BTW the british dealers are crying for the old 400 because our conditions are generally tighter and more nadgery (difficult).

if KTM bring back a 400 then so should husey.

all MX and non-electric start bikes to have an airbox improving BHP.

450 to have the 400's stroke of 60mm and not 57.2mm as of present.

why stop at a 250. why not start with a 125 4T? or even a 200 4T.

raise the exhaust above the crankcase so the cover can be removed w/o taking the exhaust off PLEASE!!!

given that husaberg change the angle of the frame for MX and SM compared to EN i feel that not anly a seperate subframe but also one that hinges and has threaded "fingies" (forgotten the name for now) on the end to adjust the seat height like the WR yamahas.

sort out the slack in the swingarm pin if it still exists. the gap between the pin and the dowel is .45mm which is too much.

the electrics look thrown together on the bike. get it sorted.

regards

Taffy

Any plans for

A) Fuel injection??

B) Catalytic exhaust (dont know how you say that in english but I guess you know what I mean) with reduced noise and no power loss??
That would put some pressure on the other brands.

C) A pure SM-racebike, FS700R or something like that??
Similar to a KTM660FR or HVA630 but without the extreme price tag. Let it cost €11k-12k.

If they could make a wife bike with a seat height of no more than 34" With a 250cc. engine with an E button that works on cold starts. That would be great! That could be a huge market for them!

I second 70marlin

the chickes would be on the trail ohhhhyaaa trail bunnys
on husees on the button starting

What is the Austrians vision regarding Husaberg?

Example:
Is Husaberg simply a test platform for future KTM products, an honest and true independent product line and / or some sort of legal necessity which lingers as a result of their initial purchase. (Husaberg was partially funded by the Swedish Government)

Heres a thought, take me along and I shall ask the questions personally. 8O

Dale

Please ask them to either make a long stroke 450 in the FE line or bring back the 501 if they want me to buy another Berg. Also why don't they eliminate the balancer in MX bikes.

Hi Brett

I agree with you and Dale. Is Husaberg going to continue to be an unique product with it's own identity (Jaguar and Ford) or will it slowly morph into a yellow KTM (Chevy and Pontiac)?

This begs a related question to your Hot Button issue: Will a 250 Husaberg be a proprietary engine and chassis?

I look forward to your continuing positive influence in the direction we're going here in the U.S.

Thanks, Alan

My questions:

Why is there a complete lack of official announcements from the factory?

Why is technical information available only from this website and the members that have tried updates and things. Some being successful and some not? Certainly the factory must know something about their product that they can tell us which will help with issues. The internet has been around quite awhile now so what is the excuse.

Does anyone have any authority to actually do something with Husaberg or is it being tossed around like a hot potato? Who is that person?

Hey Brett,

First off, thank you for giving all of us an opportunity to ask these questions.

Here's mine (sorry, I can't stop after just one):

1. Like Dale and Alan I also wonder what the future holds for Husaberg. Will Husaberg continue to be a company that pushes the technological envelope? Or will they merely become a blue and yellow KTM? IMHO, if Husaberg is not allowed to have innovative technology in their machines they start to become lost in the sea of lightweight four-strokes we now see on the market.

2. In KTM's rush to universalize parts between the two brands and minimize the costs of producing the Husseys, has performance and the true intentions of the Husaberg engineers been compromised? I ask this since the 450 has such a short stroke, along with the fact that the 37mm intake valves were ditched as soon as they moved to Austria. (Was the Austrian tariff on 37mm intake valves too high? :D )

3. Finally, is the Husaberg Factory race efforts being given a fair chance? Are they being given the proper funding and resources? When a company's sole purpose is to build race bikes it would seem to me that a good race team becomes a crucial part of the company's success. Without a good race team they not only lose good publicity but they also lose a good development tool.

Thanks again,
-Josh

Fuel injection fuel injection fuel injection.

That's one thing in my opinion that would be the next leap forward. Customize your bike to your riding, completely!!!

Imagine this: NEVER a starting problem, NEVER adjusting for elevation, NEVER adjusting for the track or the street or the trails. NEVER NEVER NEVER.

I third 70marlin

And on a personal note please, WHERE THE HELL IS MY BLACK TANK?
Been waiting 2 1/2 months and was told one month by a nice lady @ BMG.
Thanks Brett for all you do, and your intrest in our questions, have a great trip.

Hello again!

Here’s the problem I see with 70Marlins’ idea about a 34â€Â
