If you could ask Husaberg (Austria) one question....

1) When is husaberg going to abandon the mideaval weapon (counterbalancer) and drop a few pounds of unnecessary (and unreliable) weight? KISS (keep it simple stupid).
2) why don't you make a lightweight 400 to compete again the 250 2T in american HS / GNCC competition?
3) is it possible to build a 250 4T that isn't a time bomb?

Motocross question

Hi, Why has Husaberg dropped thier motocross team? Motocross is what made Husaberg. Remember Joel Smets. In the U.S. the 4-stroke nationals were dominated by Husabergs in the early years even when the Yamaha came out with thier 400 and all the Jap lovers switched. Husaberg with riders like Kelly Smith & Lance Smail were outnumbered and still won.
I personally have had as new as an '03 Husaberg but have gone back to the 2000 FC501, which I feel is one of the best motocross bikes ever built. The original engine was perfect. My 5 year old bike is still faster than all the new bikes on the track, and is proven weekly on the starting line.

For some unfathomable reason fuel injection seems to be almost impossible for anybody to get right on dirt bikes
I would disagree. My Gas Gas EFI is perfect I just wish it had a Husaberg engine in it. Cannondale trying to reinvent he EFI wheel left everyone with a bad taste in thier mouth re: EFI and it is wrong.

In regards to fuel injection, isn't there a bike in Sweden that already has an injection system for 6 years or so? Thought I read it somewhere.
In a magazine there was a question to someone from a Jap brand as to injection on MX/enduro bikes. His answer was the the public wasn't ready for this system yet and therefore the carb was still the number one choice.

Ok, back to the thread; I would also like to know what intension the oranges have with Husaberg? It seems now Husaberg is always behind on new stuff-promotion-new models etc etc.

Ok, nice engine but I did mean a Husaberg single 4s. If I recall it had a magneti marelli system. Maybe it was a private project instead of a Husaberg development.

An FI Husaberg was indeed tested by the factory in 1996.

So my mind wasn't playing with me after all. Maybe I heard it Sweden? As family of mine were importer for Husaberg then and I got the chance to visit the factory during this period.

Rocket on Wheels

2005 FC550
1. When I raise my forks tubes 5mm, and I bottom the forks the tire hits the fender. I cut the fender (where the tire rubs) away and now it rubs the frame. Are my triple clamps flexing when I bottom hard? Tire diameter too large, or other issues need to be redsign?

2. Smaller fuel tank and slim-line the radiator/tank guards.

3. I want a 250 four stroke!

4. Move exhaust muffler further out to keep rear tire from rubbing it.

It is apparent that one request is repeated over and over again. The demand for a smaller displacement engine is very strong ie:250-350cc.Big singles enjoy a solid market in the western states and Aus. and of course supermoto, but for Husaberg to gain any real market in the eastern part of N.A. a engine that can be ridden in the middle gears in tight woods trail conditions is a must .The husaberg chassis is O.K.but a smaller engine and a chassis with adjustable steering angle triple clamps would sell very well.
my humble opinion ....nsman

what machine do you ride?

there is a list somewhere in order of the front tyres that have the least chance of touching the headers. dunlop and michelin measure their tyres a different way to each other. for me? S12 every time-there is no other tyre full stop. or should i say "period".

let's see an entry level 400cc machine for novices with adjustable yokes.....

yup...i can see that one coming to fruition

anon

the factory are so clever right! they drop the 501 and the 400 and make the 450 with 100x 57. god help em! they need a psychiatrist not a development team. to think; in 1956 when dr taglioni came out with the 74 x 58 250cc single the world called it way, way, way 'oversquare'!!!!

what about the 501 headers on the 450? c'mon now let's be having them!

can i suggest any nunce who doesn't believe me on the 400 that they go to the dave clark racing web site and you'll see loads and loads of bikes for sale. 400s? NEVER LISTED. YOU'LL NEVER SEE MORE THAN ONE FOR SALE.

when a man walks into the showroom and says "excuse me, i've been riding dirt for just 6 months and i need an entry level machine that ain't going to frit me up" what do you say? "here you go sir! our WEC machine, a winner out the crate with no modifications like all our husaberg range..."

yeh i can see it.

there seems little point in talking about pipes and decals and SH.... like that until, like the car dealers, you can offer a machine for every customer that walks through that door. to offer it with honesty and integrity. a 450 isn't an entry level machine.

you can be assured that if you call for the 400 and 501 to come back that the brits at least will be right with you!

regards

Taffy
