hey Guys. new to the site, very cool place!
we just got the new "09 bergs in yesterday. we spent the better part of the morning putting them together. i couldnt wait, it was better than christmas!
i havent been this excited about a new bike in almost 20 years! after seeing and riding the new bikes at the dealershow this past summer, the anticipation of them arriving was killing me. anyway, onto the good part. i serviced one of them out and as soon as i hit the button she instantly came to life. and settled into a smooth purr.....
i let her warm up and took her for the first ride on our little test course. right away the smoothness of the engine blew me away. it pulled like a an electric freight train from idle and never put the front wheel down, even thru the full throttle upshifts. trannsmision is smooth, and precise.
here is the kicker: SHE WONT BOG!!! THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS SPOT ON!
i currently ride a 450xcf and LOVE IT. i bleed orange, but after today, my new blood type is BLUE+!!
we got 4) 450's and the first one i bought!! man i cant begin to tell you how stoked i am over this bike.
i am putting the handhaurds on her and getting it ready to race the Mid_south this weekend.

cool report, I also have a 505 and 450 XCF, are you saying this new Berg handles better than the KTM,S ?????
I would jump on one of the new bergs in a hot second but am worried about handling, it must be as good if not better than my XCF's

Sethro
i wouldnt slam the KTM's handling in any way, BUT>>> the Berg is designed for the tight woods of sweden, similar to what i ride here.
KTM's were designed on open grass track style of courses.
do i love riding my KTM in tight woods,--heck yeah.
are there way faster guys than me on KTM's in tight woods-heck yeah.

what i am saying is that i noticed the Berg steered and handled better in the twistys than any bike i have owned or ridden in the past.
that is my perspective on my new blue bike.
it is just so darn cool to have the choices we have right now. even better is both the KTM and Bergs come from the same great people, and the quality and engineering are top shelf, but we get two different theorys on chassis and engine design.

I understand you are not slaming the KTM, what I meant is I would change bikes right away If I ride a new Husaberg and it is better than what I got, I hope it is better because I want a berg again. I miss mine.

I just got to get a ride on one soon, that will make it or brake it for me, any offers out there?

This new 09 450e is a great off-road bike...plain and simple it does everything not just very well but.. easy. Its easy to start,it was 35F today here and it started instantly on the enrichener and quickly was ready to warm up as it did while I finished suiting up.Within a few hundred yards you can feel this bike is different to anything you have ridden before.it steers so light and easy, the frt wheel goes wherever you point it,even on soft ground with the frost coming out.It responds to even small footpeg weigting,it is just so responsive you forget that you are riding a 450 4T. Sitting, standing, mud, roots, water, rocks whatever this bike just cruises over it alll and makes it feel...easy.
Finding neutral was a little sketchy for about the first hour and then after this little breakin- it became positive and no longer an issue.
The FI works perfect, correct gear or not doesn't matter it just hooks up and snorts,no bogs,no pops,no hesitation no nuthin....easy.
I like the stock susp setting i am 180lbs and 5'10" and suited me as good as any bike I have ever ridden...I am not going to change a thing.
The footpeg/handlebar ergos are as good as they are going to get.I have some arthitis in my left elbow and today i never felt anything. At 58 yrs old riding dirtbikes is not always pain free but today...this bike made it feel easy.
I never met and probably will never meet this Jen fellow at Husaberg who figured out this "central mass or whatever concept" but he has built the perfect bike for me to ride in my Novs Scotia woods.
I have no idea how this bike will work in Boulder or Bendigo but for me here this bike is magic and i am pumped.
THIS BIKE IS A GIANT STEP FORWARD
I just wish that I got this bike at the beginning of my riding season as it will only be a few weeks left to ride here untill freeze up but I will get a few more rides for sure.
I did find one thing wrong with this bike, the shift lever needs to be a little higher:)
My days of racing are long gone but this bike takes trail riding fun to a whole new level, the harder you want to push this bike the better it gets and the fun factor is off the charts and best of all this bike makes it all feel ...easy...
I rode this bike for 3 hours with no stops in mostly tight woods trails odo showed 73 km when I loaded it back on the truck.
