Husaberg.org Race Team?

For your benefit Dale,

The idea (albeit not revolutionary) is to have this group try to put together a race effort, for the hell of it. Excuse me, for the fun of it. To start something and maybe build upon it year after year.
BMG has no part of it, no decision making or funding, just the bike and parts.

As a group, UHE members decide where and what, and how much, and giv'er.

So we have narrowed the rider down to a little girl, Kenny, or an old fat guy.

Good start :)

and the venue could be just about anything :) although I havent heard of a trials suggestion :)

I do like the ideas. And I want to stay out of this as much as possible as I believe it should be a .org decision. BMG will be participating in other events on separate budgets.

Whatever the .org budget, small or a little smaller, there are some real neat opportunities.

Ah, so you are indeed suggesting a UHE funded effort as opposed to that of BMG ?

As this is a for fun and not for profit may I reiterate the Las Vegas Endurocross. Perhaps Fry Guy would fly or drive down. BMG is providing the bike. Our donations will pay the entry fee and Fry's expenses and we get to go to a cool race and root for Fry and Husaberg. Sounds like a good time for all.

Great idea!
Have the end user fund the effort.

Just the facts:

"As for a simple good time with friends which share a common interest you truly have my best wishes."

From a "real" racing effort perspective a UHE program as opposed to that of BMG reduces the risk of Husaberg / BMG looking foolish should said entry prove a disaster.

Welcome to the real world of racing.

to be fair to jedi. that is NOT what he said. he has said that there will be funding from BMG in the form of a bike and parts. it's a very welcome jesture and a great idea. he has stated that it's for UHE members to decide how to do it and where.

i suggest that we clearly define that statement and then you get on with the job of deciding how you'll fund any extra on top because the more UHE funds things the further and more a rider can do.

you'll need to know what jedi will do first, sort out UHE's provisional commitment and $ input and then you can go racing and have fun!

you're not going to break any records but it could be fun.

PS
In most instances the major expense of a racing venture is neither bikes nor spares.

Dale:

I can truly appreciate your passion. I really can. As a professional tuner/racer it is in your blood to win. Second place to you must be the first loser :)

Jedi is really just giving the site a bike to race. A very nice jesture. Perhaps in the future the site will send the bike off to you for a dirt track conversion. I don't see why that wouldn't happen unless you were not interested. I hope that you would not be adverse to doing some tuning on the bike regardless of venue (at your normal rate of course).

Lets not look a gift horse in the mouth.

from what i've seen 'boss' has to be involved in this. asking him for advice would be a very good start. if you're talking racing i respectfully suggest that trail riders run to the back of the queue for the advice giving stakes. area yes but the machinations - eeeeuuuww!

are any of the 25 hour boys besides fry devotees?

what are you trying to get out of it? in which branch is the husey reasonably competitve and which is the most affordable to run? enduro and enduro again?

or is it to build the '06 crosser that husaberg 'never had!'????

all i'll say is that the cost of SM will make your eyes water!

O.K. so that will leave you, Dale and a handful of others. So whats the majority supposed to do while the minority racer elite are running the show

I guess we can play MX Unleashed on X-box

Personally, I fail to see any reason whatsoever for this type of endeavor.

Synopsis...

1) BMG donates bike and parts

2) UHE donates some spending cash

3) "Old, Fat Guy Team" take money and bike, have a blast

Result...

Nothing truly gained. Stock bike shows up, loses big time, we read about it, BMG sees little to no exposure.

A better scenario, which is too late now I guess...

1) BMG donates bike for UHE's effort in Dirt Rider Challenge

2) after said event, further corrections are made, bike is raced with help from BMG, Husaberg (Austria, KTM, whatever...), UHE

Results...

Good exposure, true race effort for everyone's benefit (making bike better in the long run), as a community UHE, BMG etc... worked together on something fun and worthwhile

Far be it from me to judge what other people find fun... but funding some other guys to go race without it being serious appeals to me in no way. Why not spend that money on yourself? Unless of course you are awash in cash

Contentious bunch aren't we?
As long as Jedi is generous enough to offer a bike to the site's members (and not just to the "elite racers") I don't figure that any of us ought to run to the back of any queue.

Being a current successful racer or tuner does (and should) give one extra rank and status, and those amongst us that have common sense will defer to their experience regarding racing rather than make uninformed mistakes, but that shouldn't stifle us from having a little fun proposing some blue sky ideas.

As Jedi said... he offered to supply a bike so that the UHE could put together a race effort for "the fun of it". I didn't see where he said that it must win anything right out of the box. It'd be a work in progress.

And by the way Husabomber, Old Fat Guy is a self deprecating term used by some of us totally tongue-in-cheek. Any resemblance to our actual stature is purely coincidental.

Hi Dez,

Hope my use of that term did not offend anyone. I did not intend to point that description at anyone particular. In fact I used it to describe myself earlier in this thread. 8)

It does however serve as an interesting way of differing what I think would be a worthy effort (young, fast rider w/support) vs. something boring or uneventful for everyone but the team and it's fat rider

:D thank's Taffy for your nice comment!!
