I've seen Honda CRF450R photos of this nature but this is the first Husaberg photo I've seen like this. Ouch!

Given the limited evidence at hand I will go out on a limb and assume that this is what is called a broken rod. Really though, do you suppose that he overrevved it and froze the piston then that lead to rod failure? I'm sure glad that I wasn't on it.

Crazy! Check out how the rod popped such a clean hole through the case in the bottom picture.

It's like a train wreck, I just cant quit staring.

Well my dutch is limited but it sounds as if is looking for a new block/casings and this happened on the highway at 100km/h

i saw a honda CBX 1000 do the same thing way back in 1979 .

the CBX is SIX cylinder and would have cost a fortune to repair .
