Can anyone give me a rough idea on how many km you get out of a standard tank on a 2011 fe 570.

I get 45-50 mpg when doing easy trail riding/dual sporting. Thats using 89 octane (RON) fuel.

45-50 MPG!!! Whoa,I get 45miles to a STOCK TANK! And I am on a 390 and ride with economy in mind because of lack of range. Are you kidding me or do i have more (or maybe related) issues with my bike?

8O The worst I ever experienced was 50 miles and that was flogging the crap out of it in mud and slop. Is your wheel diameter set right in your speedo ?

I set the wheel diameter on the dash when I first got the bike and it seems accurate.I guess I will check it again but I doubt I can get a 100% improvement. My low fuel light comes on around the 40 mile mark but I have never "ran it dry" to test ultimate range. Maybe being a 390 I am on the gas more and not getting the same economy as a more powerful bike not using as much fuel but I doubt it.

Highly variable due to conditions and altitude.

I have gone 95 miles on the stock tank just cruising on jeep roads and enjoying the sights. Cool and high elevation.

51 miles taking down our desert course, ran it dry, hot, slow going through a lot of sand stopping and starting, and I rode the course out in the morning at a pretty good clip.

44 miles mpg for a 55 mile single track ride in Idaho, used 1.25 gallons, a few miles of asphalt, then a mile or so of jeep road, then the rest all slow going single track, high elevation and mid 70's.

Average desert racing mpg around 32-35 mpg, same as my 04 550 got with it jetted correctly.

I have never had much better than 70 miles per tank. This WAS riding conservative in the mountains of Idaho. To my dismay, I did run it dry.

Put in another gallon from my Pack, and made it to 101 miles. Ran out again.

Towed 12 miles into Featherville, bought fuel, and road 10+ miles back to camp.

Awesome day!! :D

i seem to be getting good figures with a bog standard 2012 FE570 set up for adventure riding, 13/45 gearing and going easy on the throttle to extend the range. these figures are based on running the 8.5 liter tank dry...

180km / 110 miles with easy dirt roads and bitumen
150km / 95 miles for dirt riding with some gnarly stuff thrown in

i'm always keen to stretch this as the budget was blown buying the bike and i won't be able to afford an aftermarket tank for a while. i've read here and there that the aggressive mapping setting improves fuel economy (assuming you don't just give it bigger handfuls of throttle of course).

has anyone confirmed this? the berg puts out more than enough power for me on the standard setting but i'd swap over to the aggressive mapping if i can squeeze more out of a tank. anyone out there experimented and got some figures?

Just ran mine from full tank to pushing it to a gas station at 83 miles of twisty tarmac roads and 10 miles of gravel. spare tanks on the way.

Checked yesterday, 46.5 MPG over the mountains and down again. That seems about average for me, the highest has been 56 MPG, and the lowest 40 MPG at 75 hours on the bike.

Your low fuel light has two settings..............

I can't remember accurately at the moment what they are as my bike doesn't have a low fuel light. However, you can simply unbolt it and turn it over and it will come on at a much lower fuel level. I suggest checking your owners manual for this adjustment, I think the difference is a couple of liters.

Seems to me you should be getting better mpg on that 390, unless you are WOT all the time.

I hear it's quiet common for the larger more powerful bikes like the 570 to return better fuel economy figures than their smaller siblings under the same conditions.

anyone got any numbers on the mild, mid and full power settings? any comparisons?

I'm fairly certain that the mid is more economic than the mild after a race I did last season.

went ahead and got the mapping switch. i've left it on the aggressive position and there hasn't been any noticeable improvement in fuel economy. not that i'm complaining, still getting similar figures with 85 miles gnarly riding and 100 miles easy dirt & adventure riding.

has anyone bothered getting precise figures? keep hearing about improved fuel economy on aggressive mode and interested to confirm it.

I've not heard that? I can tell you that the mid setting beats the mild one but I'm waiting for the 'aggressive' report as well? I'm racing tomorrow in a 2 + 2 so I may try the morning session in the middle and the afternoon in the aggressive.

I dont take a great amount of notice on the kms I do per tank as the fuel usage changes greatly with the conditions. I have run mine dry many times and have noted that once my fuel light comes on I dont have much range left at all, maybe about 5 kms? It's almost not worth having the light at all!I am keen to purchase one of the rear mounted tanks but at the moment I feel they are grossly over priced. Maybe when they sell enough of them to cover the initial cost of manufacture they will drop to a reasonable price.
