The Finke desert race is one of the biggest races of the year in Australia and has been going for around 37 years. It is very tough and very fast. This year not only did a FE570 come third, but there were 3 in the top ten - 9th and 10th. Fantastic result!! Very close finish, if you understand just how tough the race is!!

Go the Bergs. :headbang:

Spewin about Price tho. Still haven't heard what happened to his bike.

1st and 2nd place were professional riders and riding for the Motorex KTM Off Road Racing team. Motorex KTM Off Road Racing team had 4 entries.

3rd place was Ryan Branford:
The amateur Alice Springs rider said that he was pleased with the result ‘as a bloke who works during the week and rides at the weekend for fun’ to keep up with the professional riders.
Branford said he was satisfied with his ride on leg 2 today and was impressed with his Husaberg machine.

Ever since the release of the 70deg they are growing very popular here in Aus. We always had them but it has been very hard to break the jap market. A lot of riders here haven't heard of bikes outside the big 4.

I managed to track Ryan Branford down. I wanted to ask him if he ran any special oil cooling system on his Husaberg as I was thinking of joining my mates next year in a ride across the Simpson Desert. Think I am a 10% chance of going but dreaming is free.

Here are some of the things Ryan told me re his run in the Finke:
He did not run any special oil cooler.
He ran stock suspension weighted for him.
He ran the external Can Am type fuel filter.
He recomended the 70 Degree Subframe Fuel Tank.

Not sure what year model 570 he has, but will post if he tells me anymore.

Taking the time to answer a question from a fan indicates to me he is a good fella.

Here are some snaps of Ryan and one of the quickest desert FE570's in Australia:
