Maybe he broke the 4T ... and all that was left was 2T ...

I don't see what all the fuss is about 2 strokes,
- mix oil/petrol
- no engine braking
- rebuild all too often
- no torque like 4 stroke

might suit moto cross but not enduro
that's my 2 cents

Oh no ... now you've done it, mate.

Here's the rank of religous wars:
1) Best oil
2) Best air filter oil
3) 4 strokes versus 2 strokes
4) Loud pipes saves lives (not)
5) Best chain lube
6) Who's crazier? Aussies or Czechs?

..... Batten down the hatches - we're going to be taking some heavy rolls.

(grin)

guess you need to do expand your horizons some..

most of the pros are only riding 4st cos thats what they're paid to ride.

in many places, uk especially, there is a big return to 2st for enduro.
In mx most use the 4st as thats is what that sport is now heavily biased towards.

Mr. Bowser apperently you have not ridden a 2T much ? On engine braking, it took me a long time to get used to how much the Berg loads the front suspension when backing off the throttle quickly. As for torque can you say KTM 540 DXC ? I miss being able to do a complete top end rebuild in a few hours. I had a lot less money in three complete re-build of my IT465 than one on my 501. Don't get me wrong I love my 501. I just miss some of the simplicity and power charicteristics of a big bore two stroke, hit the bigest nastiest hills in third gear and just keep rolling on the throttle, pure magic.

if their injection system is anything like the new Etec Rotax system teh oil will be injected as well...making the engine very very efficient on fuel and oil. I think I heard a story where they idled a 600 for 40hrs with no oil with no damage, as the gas cooled teh engine and with DI, it can be timed to idle very slowly...

Reliability will be greatly increased...so rebuilds won't be neccessary as often and will be uber cheap compared to your 4t.

" IF " this is what they are going to release...it is going to really shake things up!!! can't wait

Compression braking is probably the thing I like least about a four stroke. The smooth power delievery is the best though.

I can't image a street legal 2 stroke Husaberg. What a game changer.

haha, the ad is still up on blocket (http://www.blocket.se, the major swedish site for selling stuff) and it says that he has two bikes.

Har nu 2st Husaberg 450 till salu! means I now have 2 Husaberg 450 for sale.
2st = 2 stycken = 2 pieces

btw, his name is Joakim Ljunggren

just found out a mate has become a dealer and it only 40 odd miles up the road.

just emailed me to say he's got 2011's coming in soon.

going to get hold of him and see what he says about the 2st bikes, defo fancy one as i'm doing a bit more racing than i have for a good few years
whos that?

I am not going to say who my dealer is so as not to put words in his mouth or get him in trouble - he can speak for himself if he wishes - but I mentioned this rumor to him again today and he acted/talked like this (2 stroke Hussys) is a done deal which we will hear about in a week or two after the dealers meeting coming up soon.

Moreover, the assumption is that these bikes will be street legal. His assumption is that the bikes will be available in Europe first before Husaberg takes the time and effort to get them legal for the street here.

My dealer said he is expecting the presentation of a 250cc for 2011. Sounded like it would be a 250KTM with Husaberg plastic and decals or so. He could not (or did not want to) confirm 370cc plus DI.

i got told today by a dealer in the uk that there will be 2, 2st a 250 and a 300 both with carbs and based on the ktm models, he was fairley adament that there really was'nt going to be di...............the horse **** continue's? :?

If it does not have a 70 degree motor and DI, why would you even bother??

It's not like it can't be done.

isn't if funny.

all these rumours. people and the internet are doing the advertising depts job for them and building things to a boiling point just like with the '09's.

i was told yesterday, not by a dealer, that there was going to be 125, 250, 300 bikes!

Chinese whispers all over.

early july , possibly 11th, is a date i've heard for the official release.

As berger says if they are just going to stick a conventional - read 'ktm' - engine in a chassis, why bother?

I have been told by my Rep that there is not a two stroke Husaberg for the US market for 2011. Possibly at a later date though. (2012?) There will be a two stroke HB for Europe, but it's a blue KTM 300. I suspect that there will be something exciting revealed at the Dealer Meeting next week, but It will not be a two stroke Berg. I really don't think he would give me bad information as I'm certain we sold more Husabergs than anyone else in the US and I know he is honest with me and values our contribution to the success of the Brand.
